John Walker snapped. l get it. Tilman killed my Rockets and sometimes I wanna smoooosh his face in too.
Definitely got more interesting when Zemo joined in. Madripoor episode felt like John Wick, and then I read that it was written by the John Wick creator. Gimme Thunderbolts with Zemo.
I agree on what you wrote. I just liked that they took the time to develop Walker's character and not just be a generic bad guy. Regarding your pet theory: Spoiler I thought about that but wouldn't Sharon have been more interested in getting the serum when she helped them? My guess was Thunderbolt Ross or some other US government entity is the power broker
I really appreciate they are taking the time to flesh out the character of John Walker. Being a soldier is often a dirty, bloody, "shades of grey" job. Soldiers make decisions that are often incorrect that result in someone losing their life. They get motivated by vengeance. They want to do the right thing, but often it takes doing the wrong things to win. Steve Rogers is an impossible model. John Walker IS a hero...and he's also NOT a hero. I like it.
Show has been solid as AAA meat and potatoes tv. It's not Breaking Bad, but it's got a budget and a different interesting location every week. I even liked Madripour for looking like a b*stard design of John wick and cyberpunk. It wasn't trying to be a third world dump rather it's own vibrant pirate society. I think these shows work on themes rather than progression with character powers. It would be nice for falcon to power up after this in an indulgent fantasy league kind of way but marvel has been pretty good at sniffing vulnerability in their characters history while making the relevant to what people sympathize with right now. A big complaint in the superhero genre is that the global sandbox mostly gets reset after every movie. Disney's job is to maintain that balance without getting too depressing or out of control to watch Rock beats scissors Shield beats pointy sticks Man beats Wait what?
Russell is doing well as John Walker The original hate is primarily because he is not Cap. Rocket River
i can sympathize with john walker. breh feels more like what a personification of murica would be like. soft and sympathetic heroes are boring. blek falcon and white wolf need to stop being simps like steve.
They did such a good job portraying Walker. Any normal person in his spot would of done the same thing but yet we perceive him as the bad guy. Antihero to the max.
heard there will be a surprise cameo next episode from a new mcu character with connections to everything. maybe it'll be mr fantastic. or better yet, the human torch played by chris evans. minds will be blasted.
Just finished episode 4, wow had to check it was Disney+ with that ending, best episode yet and it’s been getting better
I am surprised that Russell is likeable as the new Cap. I'm almost rooting for him not to dick out. What I didn't like is how he approached casting calls with almost no preparation, and nearly giving up, saying that they just don't get me. Sounds a little privledged. That said, I can give credit were credit it due and he is delivering not only a likeable character, but a dislikeable character at the same time. And that is tough to do. Watched his father, Kurt Russell, screen test for Star Wars and while it wasn't terrible, it wasn't good. And that took me down a Mark Hamill rabbit hole on the tube. He's a lot more interesting than I ever thought he was. Given he came off as naive in the films and never had a career afterward, I just kind of assumed he wasn't a good actor. But think I was wrong. He seems to always be thinking and very clever. And seeing his screen test you could see that he did actually apply himself. But even more interesting to me was that the other guys screen test ,William Katts, was even better, another actor I assumed was just a shiot actor because of the films he was in, but when you watch that screen test he was oozing charisma. So It's a little shocking that Mark Hamill beat him out. All said, Mark Hamill seems to be a very interesting cat and I'm impressed.
i can relate more to the anti capt. i mean, you get a chance to kill a terrorist group's leader and its core, you better take it and destroy them by any means necessary. nonna that "i'll talk to them, they'll realize what they're doing is wrong" bullschitte. also sharon carter isn't as hot as when she was in the cap movies. anyway, how come this serum doesn't improve the recipient's physique? it's supposed to be better than the steve serum, which made him grow 6ft and ripped af.
