settling for prospects with less upside when you’re at the bottom of the barrel is forfeiting and accepting an L before the game even start

u don’t tank so u can end up with Davion Mitchell

Yeah, I’m pretty sure ATLANTA wishes they didn’t trade back for Trey Young over Doncic

Best trade down scenario would probably be us picking 2nd and Minnesota picking 3rd.

We put on our best poker face and act as if we intend to take Suggs #2. Minnesota trades up to acquire their hometown kid. We get an asset(s) and take Mobley with the #3 pick.

One thing we should all know about pro sports, one great player is worth his weight in gold. Every very good player is worth the price of his weight in steak.

    Take the great player.

I’d entertain a trade with okc if they give us back all our draft picks and swaps and their top draft pick this year. Sounds steep? Good.

Close .... the goal is to get the next consensus best player in the league (Lebron / KD) Then put another star next to that guy ..... and win championships.

    Quality over quantity.

I agree with you; but there is no guarantee on where or who is the next said player is. Jordan was the third pick & Curry was 7th, Harden didn’t go first either; if one can maintain a reasonably high pick AND add additional assets why not do that; versus potential bust with nothing to show but lost opportunity. Look where we are at as a franchise. We had one of the top 3 talents of this generation and did what with it? Now we need yet another player to transcend the league to do what with? More of the same? The Rockets need to wash the sheets because we have pooped the bed. Let’s get a team going and add to it because the other way didn’t work very well did it? Aaron Gordon walking away from us is an all time low, Aaron Gordon. We need help everywhere. We can’t afford to miss any opportunities. The owner is now saying one maybe two years to rebuild; meanwhile if we bust we are stuck. We need as many opportunities to find success as we can get.

I'd be ok with trading #1 and Gordon to Denver for MPJ. Then draft Davion Mitchell and whoever you like. We need a Cornerstone for our rebuild and right now we don't have one.

Let’s hope there’s a few GMs still in the league dumb enough to think like this.

This is the team that traded Harden for a bunch of late rounders, so yes it is possible. Plus the 1st overall pick is expensive, I wonder if Tilman can afford it

We just traded a $100 bill for a couple of $10 bills and then traded those for a couple of nickels in this Harden deal. Now you want to do this again lol. This is one of those things that will look absolutely foolish in 3-4 years time.

Rockets are 1 loss away from having the same record as Minnesota. Which is the worst record in the NBA. Go Rockets and keep that Tank rolling.

We already traded down this year. Harden for seven years of players not even in the league yet. Our potential return includes someone who is potentially 11 years old right now. Trading down baby!

If this was football then yeah, trade downs are always on the table.

If the Rockets believe Cade or any other top three pick are franchise type players, pick them. In basketball you should always pick that caliber player instead of trading back for a bunch of good prospects.

If Rockets can get Cade is personally take him and not think twice about it.
