They were very talented. Would you say they were disciplined? How about the years after Colt? Were they disciplined? Were they disciplined during the Strong, who tried to clean up the mess Mack left? Or under Herman for that matter?
Dude, I’m not rehashing the last decade of Texas football with you. It has sucked enough being a fan and alumnus during this time; at least I got to enjoy the Colt era when I was on campus. But, I will answer your first question: the team that lost the 2010 BCS championship game was “disciplined,” whatever you think that means. Watch highlights of the Big 12 championship game against that incredible Nebraska defense. Ndamukong Suh nearly won a conference championship for that Cornhuskers team and Texas was able to persevere. The perils of Longhorn football since 2010 are a lot more complicated than you are trying to make them out to seem. Feel free to read back through the thread; for an outside fan who seems to be very interested in the last year of life on campus, I don’t recall seeing you posting in here that much during the Strong or Herman eras. Puzzling.
No need to go further, I posted plenty over the last decade. you should go look at my post history if you want to spend the time.
Thanks the the Advanced search it actually doesn't take much time at all! As will surprise no one, you've posted more in the Eyes of Texas thread than the UT football thread. Your first post in the UT thread doesn't go back a "decade" but rather 5.5 years. I didn't realize you were over 60 but that tracks with all the rage about young black men voicing their discomfort with a white tradition. Not sure if this link will work for you guys but you can just use an advocated search and search by user and by forum. https://bbs.clutchfans.net/search/47789364/
I don't know what the hell you're looking at but I'm not over 60. The song isn't changing deal with it and move on. Because I disagree with you I'm a racist. Aren't you a piece of work.
How old are you? And yea, the song is not going to survive the season if the current students don't want it and I don't think they do.
Awesome. Glad to see you're going to go spend your time hopefully talking about something you know about.
Wish you knew half as much as you think you do. The world would be a better place. I'm sorry if you got your feelings hurt when I called you out on your ageism. Speaking of this, isn't that a form of discrimination? You would think an intelligent person like your self would realize this. Maybe you do realize it but don't give a crap if it can help you win a debate that you can't win on its merits.
It's a real stretch to consider these lyrics racist. The Eyes of Texas are upon you, All the livelong day. The Eyes of Texas are upon you, You cannot get away. Do not think you can escape them At night or early in the morn -- The Eyes of Texas are upon you Til Gabriel blows his horn.
So... every song (or a song that led to another song), regardless of lyrics, that was ever performed in a minstrel show or by a group in blackface sound be banned? The "song" should be punished due to who performed it?
What does blackface have to do with the words of the song? The song isn't racist. The problem is the Snowflakes. The title of this thread should be The Austin Snowflakes have a problem.
No one cares what you think about the situation. Find more productive uses for your retirement than sharing opinions about traditions of schools you never went to. TLDR: go away. No one cares about you or your dumbass brother.
