Teacher goes on racist rant, not realizing Zoom was on.

Seems like it's on the level of wait staff complaining about black people being bad tippers on public forums.

Totally unPC and seems like an unsolvable issue that people vent about

Racism is believing a group of people are or have inferior characteristics based on their skin color, instead of just treating or viewing people as individuals independent of their skin color.

This is textbook racism.

 

The anger is out of frustration. She says whites do the same so it isn't about inferiority.

Secondly the frustration is giving more of a **** about the black kids.than the black parents

She clearly displayed that she thought a characteristic of people with black skin was inferior to white people. That's racism.

Actually, this is what @Jontro has made a career of.

Not the racist rant part, just the jerking it on zoom.

 

I would say yes because even though, statistically, she may be correct, we are supposed to accept people on an individual basis. Through this we erase the stereotypes that are racist. If my family is full of murderers but Im not one, don’t assume I am one. Individual basis. It works. We will always have the stats. Lets try to change them.

I taught at a predominantly black middle school. I have also taught at a mostly white middle school. There were huge differences across the board. You know who wasn’t different in each situation? Me. If I were to judge individual students based on their race or negative trends of their race, I am no longer an effective teacher and I am actually now a problem. So yeah, she coulda done better there.
