My mom has severe depression issues that I been trying to convince her to go get help. She lives 1,000 miles away from me in some small town in Mexico. Reading that note sent chills down my body man. I am guilty of sometimes wanting to throw in the towel because her issues take a toll on my mental health, but I've stuck with her for the most part. I was raised by my grandmother and uncle from when I was 2 years old, but I kept my relationship with my birth mother over the years solid, even though I don't feel that same type of love I had for my grandmother (may she RIP). It's tough what she deals with though and there is no way I can think of that I can help her conquer her demons besides being there for her and providing some financial support for her to get help. Damn, that note ruined my day.

Ugh, sorry to hear about that situation. Parents or kids are a big part of life, and when they have troubles, those troubles become a big part of our lives.

Jeebus I can see why he'd end up with a hedonistic worldview when his support network couldn't handle his issues that even drugs and crisis counseling couldn't resolve. I guess my lesson on this is to show more empathy with pain. Don't need people to be dripping pools of blood to react

I follow Abbott on Facebook, so I guess that's why I've seen more of his horseshit than anyone else. I also follow Rafael Cruz and Dan Crenshaw and even those guys are not b****ing nearly as much (although they still are) as Abbott.
Bad move on Biden in my opinion asking for a ban on types of firearms. That's going to create a lot of division. I'm all in on mandatory background checks for private sales though.

Serious restrictions are a start. You can get a grenade launcher but you have to jump through insane hoops and waiting periods (my friend has one and told me it was a massive pita to get it). Why can’t we have that sort of strict review with assault rifles and semi automatic guns? I’m not against guns but you’d damn well better be qualified mentally.
