No game on Sunday????? WTF. Never heard of a baseball team having Sunday off during the season..............
I'm not a believer in ERA being predictive in small samples, but I still smile seeing that Cole Irvin has an ERA of 8.31 and it is the best of their three starters this series.
Oakland coming off a walk off, extra inning win against the Dodgers yesterday. It’s still very early in the season, but it would be very nice to keep putting distance between the A’s in the standings. Going to be nice seeing fans at MMP once again
Chapman hasn't looked 100% and looks helpless against breaking stuff so far. Here's to hoping the Astros throw him a ton of breaking stuff and he keeps whiffing.
Hopefully we take this series but it seems like the Angels are going to be the bigger threat for the division. The A's pen isn't the same and the moves they've made in the field don't appear to be doing them any favors. Moving from Semien to Elvis in particular looks like it's going to really hurt. Good thing for us the A's are so ****ing cheap. Also, if the Astros go cheap/short term at SS I wouldn't mind snagging Semien at all.
The A's have several guys who rub me the wrong way but Chapman has class, imo. To my knowledge he's never shat on the Astros even when baited by reporters.
A's have better depth. Angels have better top end talent. Any of the Angels top 6 guys falter and they will putter around like the Astros did last year after losing JV, every veteran reliever besides Pressly, Alvarez, Jose's knees, and Gurriel's bat. Not sure who the better threat is. Angels if they stay healthy, but for all the preseason talk about Astros lack of depth...the Angels look as thin as Barbie.
Yep. I wish LMJ was pitching today as it would give him a great excuse to try to get his curve back which seems to come and go.
According to this article, it is the first time in over 20 years for the Astros. https://climbingtalshill.com/2021/04/08/astros-sunday-interesting-day-team-history/
