Couple guys I like with the two later picks ..... Josh Giddy a 6'8" point guard from the Australian league and Ayo Dosunmu , a 6'5" combo guard from Illinois.
Picks in the 20s I quite like Duarte. 42% from deep (on a lot of attempts). Late bloomer? Nice release on his shot, seems quick enough on the action. Although not the most explosive athlete, seems to defend pretty well. Filip Petrusev. 6'11 frame with versatile skills for a big man. Could sit on the end of bench as someone who can play in that stretch big role.
I LOVE Duarte. I think he would be perfect for this team as a ready to contribute right away kind of guy. I think he'll be one of the guys people will be kicking themselves for not taking if he goes in the 20s. And thats who i would be banking on using in regards to a trade to move up.
Rockets play Tpups and Magic, as games they could win. Where as the Timberwolves could win against Magic, Sacramento(Slight chance b2b) , Houston, Detroit and possibly against Chicago. The April 27th game against houston should be fun to see how serious both teams are in winning since there only few games left. I think Rockets will get the #1 pick because they have such a rougher schedule against playoff teams, If you look at those 5 games minny has, they could win possibly 3. Rockets 2. But you will probably see some major tanking come soon for minny. Going to come to wire maybe, if minny just starts resting Towns thou you never know. lol
Man as far as injuries have gone for this ball club, Houston deserves Cade. Odds are weird thou cause in 2002 rockets came in as 5th worst to get yao at #1
Yes, even weirder now. A bottom 3 finish gives all 3 teams only a 52% chance to have a top 4 pick. I have a bad feeling about the lottery balls.
Draft lottery is rigged. Yao going to Houston was by design. No way the league was going to hand him to the likes of Grizzlies and Warriors (they sucked at the time). Derrick Rose going to his hometown Chicago was the same. 2019 draft lottery was suspicious as hell too. That was the first year they introduce the new odds and the worst teams all fell out of top 4. Luckily Houston is one of the biggest markets in the NBA and I think it make sense for Silver to hand us a top pick.
On one hand I agree with you about the big market, but the pessimist in me thinks Silver may take it from us for being a red state. That is fodder for a different forum though.
Heck if he hates red so much, he should stop kissing up to China! That is fodder for a different forum though. #KeepTankAlive Go Rockets!!! ....... ....... .......
If we finish last we can't get the 6th pick, the worse pick we could get is 5, which we would have a 48% chance of getting. That's why I'd rather finish 3rd, keep the same odds at being top 4 but have a 33% chance at getting 6th or 7th. I'd rather give away the 6th or 7th pick to OKC instead of the 5th.
silver owes rox the top pick for the disaster the team had to go thru with china due to marley's comments.
Do you know if it's really ping-pong balls they use? I remember some years back they switched to a computer simulation or something of the ilk. It would be great if it was ping-pong balls because I REALLY don't trust any kind of program that (supposedly) randomly selects the numbers!
lol! I say just lose as many as possible to give ourselves a cushion and let the chips fall where they may. There's too fine a line at the bottom of the standings. MANY worthy competitors.
Yes, Rockets have 22 games left as of this moment, 20 are vs teams currently making the playoffs. T-Wolves and Magic being the 2 non playoff teams (Pacers currently 9th and probably making "Play-In" games). We good.
