Wood might not be a superstar or even an all-star, and will probably never get to that level, but he is a productive player on a very team friendly contract. He just might not be a C, and might be better if you slide him to the 4 and play him next to a defensive & rebounding center with size. You can usually get those kind of guys late in the draft or through free agency. The Rockets really need a scoring wing in the worst way. If the Rockets get a top 4 pick it has to be either Cade, Suggs, or Green to play alongside KPJ and then eventually find a 3 & D SF with size and length.
LOL I dont disagree but let's actually see these young inexperienced players produce even HALF a season before we dump a young asset as valuable as Wood.
He’s starting to become quite the chatter box. Wood you should be easily averaging 30 on this team this season and killing the boards. Neither of which are happening. C’mon now you wanted to be the man - now walk the walk.
Granted I agree with what you say. But man I am so disappointed Silas makes so many fundamental mistakes. That's got nothing to do with rebuilding vs a good team unfortunately. I really don't think he is cut for a head coaching job for a successful team.
Way too early to assess whether Wood can be a legitimate allstar. This is the first time in his career he has gotten heavy minutes and be the main focus of the oppenents’ defence. I don’t understand the negativity at all. Let’s give him one more season.
Yep. One of those deals. They aren't good and not a lot of fans are watching. Except for those on this board.
What a promising game. Just like the basketball gods like it. You compete hard and accept the match up as they come. I actually realized mid game that there is a lot of sense on playing Bradley right now. Because that's the exact kind of guy you want around Porter Jr. He can take any scoring guard and leave the kid to easier matchups. Same thing with Olynyk, I don't like to rely as much on the veterans, but the system makes too much sense for him. What do you guys think about the Olynyk-Wood minutes? I don't think Wood can seriously protect the rim.
He is not a guard and plays are not run for him so how do you suppose he does that? Just start jacking up shots?
Wood already cries way too much publicly for an unproven player thats been injured most of the year, who hasn't shown to impact winning on a consistent basis.
