Tilman sucks for sure but not like us being unhappy with him makes a difference. He isn't firing himself so unless someone here has the money to buy the team, this is a pointless topic.

Yes! None of us give a damn if some piece of $h!t Billionaire is making a profit. We want this team to win a championship! If it means he has to overpay for a team that has a Superstar in every position.. Well then, so be it!

 

You don’t have to care about him making a profit. You just have to understand that the NBA is still a business and losing money is not in any owner’s mind. To hate someone for not spending as much money as possible on what you want is extreme. You don’t have to like that he doesn’t spend “extra” money. But the amount of vitriol spewed on this board at him is disgusting. This is a Houston-built guy, not some foreign billionaire. They act like almost every other team is attempting to compete while also balancing that business aspect. This is part of the league. It’s insane that so many fans on this board suddenly can’t get over this fact of 60 some odd years of the NBA...

 

It can make a huge difference if fans vote so decisively with their wallets instead

If the same 80% dissaproval rating is applied to people not renewing season tickets, boycotting Fertitta restaurants, and gambling anywhere but the Nugget ...

Tillman's financial despair may leave him with no choice but to divest his most valuable asset in order to save the rest of his empire

Cal may not have to worry knowing his team is guaranteed to print money in the most popular, profitable sport league while located in a state that treats football more as a religion than a past time

Tilman stretched himself just to buy the team
Then the pandemic hit and drastically suppressed his revenue for at least 2 seasons

Then on top of his biggest draw, Harden demanded out, further reducing revenue and leverage perennial playoff team morphed into a contender for worst in the NBA

 

I like your take. I think instead of just saying you hate the guy we should have discussion on what you think he has done wrong and what you would have done differently.

 

So basically your main complaint is he didn't resign the god Trevor Ariza? Just because there is cash to spend doesn't mean there is anything worth spending it on. So I would like you to give your take on who you know that would have said yes to an offer. It goes without saying if you offer someone a deal doesn't mean they are obligated to take it.

So basically the god Ariza didn't get resigned is your biggest complaint? What else is there, how much inside information do you have?

 

I will never understand this hate. For the past 10 years the Mavs have missed the playoffs half of the time and have lost in the 1st round the other half, but Mark Cuban is considered the ultimate owner while Tilman, with 3 division titles in a row, is some kind of cheapskate. Cuban owned the Mavs for 10 years before they won a championship, triple the time Tilman has owned the Rockets. What standard is he being judged by here? During Tilman's time here we've lost to only the Warriors and the Lakers in the playoffs, both championship teams. If all Tilman had to do was write a check to beat those squads then I guess all of the other owners failed to write that check too.
