Also Kong is freaking adorable, I want him as a pet, Godzilla on the other hand, he looks scary and I don't want to go near that thing.

The water fight scenes were worse than the land ones imo but overall the animation style just reminded me of Pacific Rim 2, especially for Kong. A skyscraper sized giant monkey should not be jumping around and swinging from things like a normal sized chimp. Things should feel slower, heavier, and with more weight. The best example of weight in a animation is comparing the mechs/kaijus in Pacific Rim 1 vs 2.Also I felt they humanized Godzilla and especially Kong too much so it just felt like two people in suits hitting each other as opposed to two monsters going full primal mode.

I think at this point you should know what to expect with this monsterverse, from 2014's Godzilla to this film. Strong monster action with weak human characters and a fairly nonsensical story. Does that mean it HAS to be that way? No, but that's what these films are and when you accept that, they become a lot of fun.

The action and cgi in this was spectacular. I came for the fights and it delivered. What I didn't necessarily expect was a Kong backstory, and I appreciated that, much more so than the lame attempts at human character development. Millie Bobby Brown and her crew were completely pointless and their storyline a bit annoying. The film would have been better served developing Kong and Godzilla even more as well as Ilene Andrews and Jia. Those two were the strongest characters in the film and they should have kept the focus on them rather than the other cast.

Overall I had a fun time watching it. It's probably on par or a little better than King of the Monsters, which I didn't like first viewing but I've come around to enjoy it for the stupid action it is. Skull Island is probably the best of the bunch, but my favorite still remains Godzilla, even if they stupidly killed off Bryan Cranston and criminally underused Ken Watanabe.

I'd happily welcome more of these films. Just cut down on the human cast and storylines and I'm good.

    My review:

Eh... I guess it was alright.

It was a very stupid and simple movie, but we all knew that going in so it's not fair to hold that against it. So I am thankful that they kept it straightforward and simple and didn't try to do anything different because that surely would have been terrible.

    Total nonsense.

So there is an earth within earth where gravity is inverted and pressure means nothing while people seem to instantly travel through from one side of planet to another?

Don't think about it. What is the light source in hollow earth? How are people able to breathe? Who knows, who cares. Here's some beasts fighting.

    Stop exaggerating.

It's Radioactive Atomic breath, not laser.

My favorite part of the movie is when Kong pulled out the heater and lit up Godzilla.
