@StupidMoniker, like the party he defends, has a warped priority of what is the real threat in America. 0.0001%. Wow, yet Covid was rampant as they paraded around Maskless scoffing at over 500,000 dead Americans. We were losing more Americans a day than the number of voter fraud convictions since 1982. My God, 159 million people voted! Trump lost by 7 million votes. Voter fraud should be the least of their concerns. The GOP is so screwed up in priorities it is head spinning. Paxton, Cruz, Abbott, Crenshaw, and comrades were so obsessed with kissing Trump's rear end, gerrymandering, not letting people absentee vote in a pandemic, making it harder to vote, and spreading the stop the Steal BS than people dying of Covid. They kissed Trump's behind and never raised concerns over his 70 no mask Covid spreading rallies from June to January. They gathered and spread lies and propaganda without a bit of remorse for the negligence and pure lack of responsibility towards stopping the spread. Texas Records show the Texas Attorney General’s office has prosecuted 55 people for election fraud from 2015 to 2020. It reports other 37 cases pending. 55 people! Yet, we have lost almost 50,000 Texans from Covid during the pandemic. But, with more Texans dying a day than voter fraud counts in Texas since 2015 they chose to focus on propaganda and lies, while people were dying. https://www.khou.com/article/news/i...orts/285-deec7c9a-581b-42b1-b430-4cae7aef5f26
Well, they found 16 cases this round, all minor. Ken Paxton's beefed-up 2020 voter fraud unit closed 16 minor cases, all in Harris County (houstonchronicle.com) The Texas attorney general’s office spent nearly twice as much time working on voter fraud cases this year as it did in 2018 — logging more than 22,000 staff hours — yet resolved just 16 prosecutions, half as many as two years ago, records show. All 16 cases involved Harris County residents who gave false addresses on their voter registration forms. None received any jail time.
Also I think all those cases were unintentional hence no charges. It was just honest mistakes in things like spelling.
Ken Paxton and our GOP compadres in Texas are nothing but seditionist traitors in their fight to spread the lies and incite their cult. Guys like @StupidMoniker believed them.
The only things anyone knows about you and your character are based on what you post here. Maybe look inwards if you don't like the criticism.
I strongly disagree with your characterization of “voter fraud,” but when it comes to the image (the meme), it was my attempt at humor about how many you used. Actually, I hadn’t seen the video you mentioned or read the response to it, probably scanning past it.
Voter Fraud Map: Election Fraud Database | The Heritage Foundation There is a searchable database for you that has logged over 1,000 convictions. It is very difficult when they are not voting in the name of another voter who is also voting, but instead they vote in a jurisdiction where they do not live, because they didn't update their mailing address when they moved, take the absentee ballot from the mailbox of someone that never asked for one and then fill it out an send it in in that person's name. Vote when they are disqualified from voting (felons, non-citizens, etc.) but have been registered without proof, or the absolute easiest, just destroying absentee ballots from districts that lean against your preferred candidate when they are in the outgoing mail. It is impossible to know. Also, it seems most people even caught red handed get a misdemeanor and little or no time. The audits are very limited in what they can detect. In the most recent election, for example, the audits largely consisted of comparing the machine totals to the paper ballots that were fed into the machines. That will catch machine error or fraudulent reporting of results, but nothing else. Georgia is changing their rules as far in advance of the next election as one can reasonably get, and they are still getting the same backlash. The timing doesn't seem to matter to the other people besides you that oppose voter ID. Again, it is impossible to know how many instances of voter fraud there have been, because there are ways to do it that by their nature frustrate detection. If a mailman chucks 500 ballots in a dumpster when no one is looking before returning from his route, who is gonig to know that fraud has occurred. At most, those people who bother to check the registrar's website will say that their ballot never showed as received. My absentee ballot in 2012 never showed as received and nothing was done.
Look dude I'm not going to read the rest of your post when your first part is disingenuous as f***. Please go ahead and express the denominator with "1000" fraud convictions. Keep in mind this is since 1982. A couple billion?
If you look at presidential elections, it would be huge. In a close city counsel election, 2 or 3 votes can make the difference. Should we allow cheating because there wasn't enough of it detected to bother you?
If they are convictions we don't allow it. And a cumulative of 1000 since 1982 pretty much means a probabalistic chance of near zero ever effecting any election. And this is after the GOP funds millions of dollars trying to find examples and usually just find examples of people making honest mistakes like registering in a new state they moved to and still being registered in their previous state and not actually double voting. We have mechanisms in place to detect fraud but you just ignore them pretend there are some nefarious methods for a thing that has such absurd opputuinity cost with no discernible reward for said cost. This is the GOP boogyman trying to compensate for demographic shifts where their right wing white christian culture wars isn't resonating with majority of the nation. Their solution isn't changing their rhetoric but rather chosing their voters.
Your fear of something that barely exists is paranoia at it's best, driven by GOP Q crazy Trump butt kissers and power mongers so desperate to keep power that they spread outright propaganda and lies.
patronage politics in overdrive. Stamped in Trump’s corrupt image, (which was stamped in 2nd tier Long Island mafia image). You just literally hate to see it.
The most hilarious talking point by right wingers here is "I thought liberals wanted higher taxes for corporations". Ya we do except we don't want legislators taking actions against corporations for their speech on voting rights. That's called "cancel culture"... The type that actually matters as it's oppresion by the actual government.
I don't have a fear of it. My candidates never win, and never will win unless there is a radical shift in the electoral system, the political orientation of the body politic, some huge shift in the public perception of political parties in America, or more likely, all of the above. Voter fraud has effectively zero effect on me, be it as rare as @fchowd0311 thinks it is or as common as I think it is. I am not concerned about it because it is common or rare or because my guy did or didn't win, I care only because in principal cheating is wrong. I would rather everyone have to jump through 50 hoops than allow one cheater.
