We couldn’t get a second for him at the deadline? This deadline had some weird values on players

Ben Mclemore only has value on a team with James Harden. If he's not playing with Harden he's absolutely trash and has proven this every year but last years bubble.

Doesnt play defense and been in a shooting slump all season - failed when Rockets tried to use him as more than catch and shoot player on offense

In the last CF podcast Clutch and Bima assume that Ben shot himself out of 2nd round value with the massive slump he has been on pretty much all year.

He’ll go to the Heat and catch fire and help push their draft pick to #25 which we’ll wind up with and then the sky will fall and so if we’re all dead there won’t be a draft anyway....

Btw, if he’s trash, as someone mentioned, shouldn’t we KEEP him this season until the tank is complete?

“It has been a long time, Ben Obi-Wan. Now the tank is complete.”
“If you strike me down, the draft lottery will go against you.”

Sad, he couldn't do more for us. It was shocking to see him collapse completely.
He isn't that bad. There is no doubt that Harden rescued him from oblivion.

When the Rockets first got Ben McLemore, I was hopeful that he could still tap into the talent that made him a high draft pick. But, it just wasn't there, he played well along side Harden, but his stardom was GONE.... He was no more than a support guy level talent, that much was clear.

Hence a warning for everyone wanting/dreaming of tank season. High draft picks can bottom out into unwanted stiffs before they ever sniff stardom or key rotational guys.

I like many am keeping my eyes on the standings, but there's a 50/50 chance the pick goes to OKC regardless of how bad the Rockets stink up the place. Plus there is a possibility the player picked still has to go through his growing pains until he can truly contribute.

But it's good that Ben McLemore is being released.....

Silas deserves some blame for that by encouraging BMac to do things that were outside of his wheelhouse.

MDA spent a lot of time rebuilding his game and confidence so he could focus on the ONE thing he does best, catch and shoot.

When Silas had him ball handling, shooting off dribble, more mid range and driving to the rim, that had him thinking too much, McLemore just went back to all the bad habits that almost ended his career.
