That is close to what 'buying' a championship team and talent looks like.

We will get a better idea when they play the 76ers at full strength in about 9 days . ECF preview!. Having said that, they have the best record in the league against the best teams in the league virtually all of them without Durant.

The pick and pop option between Aldridge and Harden is going to be on fire

I was we had an owner smart enough to do that, instead of trying to win with budget restraints.

You can name them on one hand or two, three fingers.

The Heat of today, Milwaukee, Philly, Dallas, and whatever their names are, are only 2nd tier, as tough as the truth is.

In terms of spending only the Lakers and a couple of others were the golden standard, even historically there were not many.

Only 3 teams in the modern NBA has won a chip without paying luxury tax. Miami's first championship when Wade was getting paid 3 million, the spurs where they got their big 3 to take a discount to play with each other, and the first Warriors team when Curry was still making 10 million and Klay was on his rookie contract.

    Everyone else bought a chip.

Griffin and LMA wanted to take the minimum to go to the Nets. What do you want Nets to do? Say no thanks? Lol

Aldridge and Griffin could have got more money elsewhere. They chose to take less. Harden passed on 103 million dollars. These guys are making a genuine sacrifice

Harden didn't pass on any money just cuz he turned down the extension doesn't mean the Nets can't give it to him. Nets also coulda matched higher offers with their exceptions.

Who is mark? Do you mean the gm? He already did A+ job putting stars on the squad you cant blame him if the Nets fail a gm can only do so much.

Nash is a first year coach look at JKidd one of the smartest pgs ever and he looked lost AF his first year. Luke Walton and Silas have years of ast hc exp and look at them now they also dont have any idea what they are doing. Nash is basically a figure hear at this point Dumbtoni is really the one calling the shots.

They arent making a sacrifice cuz they are still getting paid their salary for the season. They cant make more than vet min cuz nobody has taken more than the veteran's min after getting paid their full salary in a buy out. They arent making a sacrifice they are actually getting paid more than they would have been originally cuz they got vet min (+3M) on top of their salary for the year.

Harden only passed on guranteed money he is gonna make that back a year later when he signs that max extension.

So yeah nobody is sacrificing here get real.

With a slightly different title. “How not to win a championship on a budget!”

Yet it still does not negate what I was saying lol.

There is no negative spin on it, it is how the sports world works.

I would see more underdogs doing it like the 2004 Pistons, many do.
