750 sqft, as long as they aren't counting "lofts" with 3 feet clearance, is actually pretty damn livable for a couple, and you could make it work with a kid too with the right layout. Basically a small 2 bed (American) apartment, or cabin.

375 sqft and your living like a clown for the most part.

I'm kind of a hippy and I'm into the downsize and simplify thing, but if the tiny houses aren't actually being built for the original intended purpose of hauling around frequently, then why in the hell copy a design that is based on legal trailer limits for roads? Just to torture people? This is all trend, no practicality. The cost difference of a 375 sqft house to 750 sqft is very minimal due to the economies of scale.

Seriously, give me 700 sqft of indoor space and 700 more of porch and a big workshop/garage and I'm in like flint.

I would totally do this if it weren't in Buda and it were in Round Rock or Cedar Park or something.

Apartments with no shared walls would be great. I would never in a million years buy this though.

From the ads at the bottom, you could live in a German greenhouse for only $38K!

i cant even wrap my head around living in a 378 sq ft home, but theres plenty of millennials out there who will jump all over this. retirees looking to scale down too.

im in south austin and the apartment complex by my neighborhood does 600 sq ft apartments for over $1200/month. if given the choice and the rent was the same id probably do the 378 sq ft detached tiny home.

My first apartment was 425sqft. It was enough for me and my buddies to get drunk and play video games in. That was without a loft or porch, which a lot of these tiny housers use a lot.
