I read Lindor wants 10/$385. That is stupid and if Carlos thinks that is his comp, he's crazy.

Exactly. Back issues can be persistent and if he doesn’t stay healthy for the season he’s not getting a long term contract for 25-30. If he does stay healthy, he’ll get that easy. Given his current injury history I think 20 million a year is still low, but it’s not an insulting starting point.

I’m not saying Carlos should take the offer if he feels healthy, but the Astros would be taking a big risk to pay him 10/300 given how much he’s been able to stay on the field the last three seasons. A guy who’s on the field 110 games a season shouldn’t expect to be paid like he’s playing 150+.

Half the years and half the amount that Tatis signed for. 7 years $170M, think it gets done?

I think we'll have to go over $200M or uup the AAV to over $30M per season.

I'd offer around 6 years 160 million with a player option for years 5 and 6.

    I really hope not .

obviously we at least have this season . I would hate to be in a position of having to try and trade him this year .

he really showed me something last year . I don’t think it’s disrespectful to make him show you again this year . The 6/120 if it actually happened was kinda a lowball , but maybe that was the base and it was incentive laden .

idk how crazy you can get with baseball contracts . I dunno what correa’s ask is for yearly salary or # of years .

but bump your base offer up 3-4 mil a year and then add in another 5-6 based on incentives . And a good chunk of that , incentives he should make if he just plays 100 games or something like that .

if you wanna go crazy let him make 35 million if he wins mvp .

    go for 6-7 years .

something like 7-170 if all years he is terrible
Expect to pay 7-196 if has ok injury luck and if he balls out winning mvp like 3x then 7-240

how big can we make the spread lol ?

7-170 is a 50 million dollar increase from the last offer . And you give him upside . It’s at least a offer he will consider imo .

Pretty reasonable, over $25 mill a year (slightly).

It will be interesting in the next 24 hours just how bad Carlos wants to be an Astro and how much of a bet he’s willing to make on himself to stay healthy and perform to the level of contract he’s currently seeking

Astros look like cheap skates. Correa is already selling his home now.

Many Astros fans be like, "8 years for 160 million should get it done, I'd never offer more"

Maybe should have wrapped him up sooner before news of that Lindor deal came out. Dang...

Having said that, if that’s going to be the market rate, I’d let him go, or trade him first. No way in hell I’m paying out that kind of money for Carlos Correa.

If Lindor got 34.1 million per year, Correa is going to want at least 30 per.
