It is 1st April. JJ expires and his contract will be over in 2-3 months.
    So let's be real.
The only reason for this outburst is because he wanted to hug the big thigh and get a ring with BKN.

By his absurd logic the whole Raptors team should ask for a buyout since they have packed up and left their homes and families in a whole different country.

Exactly. If he didn't want to be far from his family, he should find another line of work. But, but, but... $$$$.

I'll allow it. Players make peanuts compared to owners/organizations and owners will do anything that benefits them within the rules. Then they say "it's a business" and a bunch of corporate fans nod their head.

I have no problem players trying to extract anything from organizations. Officially or unofficially, get anything you can. I root for the players and the games, not the companies. I have no interest in forcing parity between companies either. This is a game, so let the free market reign. No one's food or shelter or health is at risk here.

Also we don't have a universal or common set of morals about what's "professional". That's also an imaginary narrative in your real life. You or I doing things a certain way doesn't mean a damn thing to a third person or owner. If it's not in the contract, then do as you please. That's how both parties should act in an equal exchange of money for labor.

Giving money is not more sacred than giving labor, contrary to what seems to be the belief in this corporatist culture. You can see it in the terminology: A player SIGNED FOR so and so team? No dog. The company and the player signed one contract between them to exchange something. If you don't like it, take the risk of changing it. If the company wants to F its reputation among the most important assets -players- then please, go ahead and screw him over and have him tell the story to millions of fans and players.
