Sure you did. We did everything we could without spending. Les Alexander built the the team that 65 wins and he dismantled it.
James harden got everything he wanted and ran every co star he had outta town. He then b****ed and complained his way to a team so stacked he doesn't really need to compete to win a championship will be handed to him. He is NOT a victim lol. The narrative is changing because his regular season stats are impressive (like always), but let's not forget the times he just quit on us in the postseason
Ask yourself why. Ask yourself why nearly everyone wanted out. It’s not like Harden was the only one, he wanted to retire here. It was 60% of the starting lineup, the coach, and GM. At some point Rockets fans are going to have to recognize that there’s a lowest common denominator kind of thing at work here. If it had been Harden that was alone in bailing out then sure, **** Harden. But it was nearly everybody so I think you might be cursing the wrong guy.
We all realize Tillman is at work, but you can't ignore the culture of "Whatever Harden wants" put in place by Morey and company. Nothing wrong with getting feedback on the franchise direction and trades etc, but to let him blatantly miss practices, or ignore team rules - that is a cancerous situation - that should have never happened in the first place. So, yes, Tillman is someone for sure to blame, but also, we have to realize as a businessman he knows bad culture when he sees it and has every right to demand it change. So, you have a perfect storm - a guy who got away with everything getting mad that he was now being held accountable, a coach and GM who set that in motion seeing the writing on the wall and bailing out beforehand, and an owner pissed off that the culture was broken - and there was no accountability on the floor. It is like Ringling Bros Circus with us fans stuck in the lion's mouth! DD
In the end, we're likely to see a team of stars who are all still doing those things you consider to create a cancerous situation vs a team with Lebron who always has gotten his way and has had preferential treatment. Meanwhile, all those other teams with good team chemistry will be sitting at home watching. Stars rule this league. It's just the way it is.
And who the hell where they going to spend on? Did not know we rejected Durant and Irving coming here...
Sure, but they all don't necessarily get to miss practice, or ignore team rules - I am sure there are various degrees of cow tying to someone.... DD
An actual starting SF would have been nice, as opposed to letting the one from a 65 win team walk and trying to replace him with minimum league guys or guys you refuse to play the entire season because you would then have to pay them a real contract. Every addition doesn't have to be a star.
I agree in theory but paying Ariza 15M is dumb. He said after he woulda taken 12M to stay which is still dumb. Its kinda ridiculous you are bagging on Fertita for not overpaying for somebody did you think Ryan Anderson for 18M a year was a good deal?
Maxey sucks ass. Rox would only get 1 or 2 picks most on top of Simmons and Thybulle (who also sucks). Everyone still pining for the Philly deal just stop. That deal sucks and if you used your brain you'd know it too. Simmons is doing jacksquat with Embiid out. He cant score or create space ofr everyone he is a defensive player making the super max. Philly is lucky they have Tobias Harris (remember how everyone bagged on him last year?) otherwise they would have issues winning a single game cuz nobody can carry the offense. Simmons woulda made Rox better, but not much better. I'd rather suck and clear cap then be mediocre and capped out with 0 picks and swaps.
The financial incentive of flipping Allen now overshadows the 10-15 spots. Rox saved on 24M from Prince's salary and they also got a low FRp on top of that. Also Presti wouldnt remove the right to swap for half a season of Allen lets be real. They can go after Allen in the offseason if they really want him that badly no need to lose a possible top 5 lotto pick for half a season of Allen lol.
The everything he wanted was flat out exaggerating on the Tillman and the Rockets to make themselves look like the victim when harden wanted out. Half the stuff McMahon put in that article were flat out nonsense. It’s common knowledge that Tillman nixed a lot of the trades that Morey had set up to improve the team because he had no interest in paying, One was Jermichael Green and Garrett Temple from Memphis when we badly could have used those two. We gave up picks to get rid of Knight and Chris’s to save him money. Had to give Melton away to save money. The list goes on. There was a few articles posted here about how he had given strict orders not to go into the luxury tax, This is the same guy who made fun of the Warriors owner for paying tax on Twitter.
Nah. You can direct that anger towards Tilly. You know, the guy who made the forever ride-or-die-for-Houston James, suddenly feel like he has no future with the franchise. Yeah, **** Tilly!
