Giddy plays for my hometown team Adelaide 36ers in Australia, so i've seen him play in person a fair bit. No. 1 thing that stands out is his court vision and he has developed great chemistry with our bigs. Has good height and decent athleticism. Needs to work on his shooting and D, but lots to like.
Mid to late first round guys I like: Tre Mann: point guard with range that grew to 6'6'' by his soph year at florida. Projects as a combo guard off the bench lou williams type. Benedict Mathurin: 6'7'' shooting guard who shot 40% from 3 and 85% from the line. 3&D guy who could be a nice compliment to KPJ. Charles Bassey: 6'11'',235 center who looks like an old school 5 but who has enough range and athleticism to play today's game. Reminds me somewhat of Cauley-Stein. Greg Brown and Brandon Boston: both guys have the tools but look like they will need at least a year in the g league. But their potential is stardom. These guys get gms fired if they're taken too high.
Got a big question for you guys. If they do get 2 late first rds, could you trade them both for like the 10th pick? Would you guys do this? For instance New Orleans might do this, feeling they just need more role players than actual top 10 rookies.
Absolutely would do that. Especially if their top pick was Mobley or Kuminga (guys whose offense, at least at first, isn't going to be their strength.). Bouknight or Kispert or even Josh Christopher could be a target in that scenario. More late first/early second guys I like are Nay'Shon Hyland as a poor man's Lillard off the bench or Herbert Jones as a Trevor Ariza type wing. I think that there are NBA contributors deep in this draft. I'm interested in seeing if Bradley can be traded for some draft capital in the off-season.
I was obviously being sarcastic.I don't understand why clutchfans wants us to trade forand draft every white guy.
The only sort of racist explanation: the next domestic caucasian star is going to be a cash cow that the league will move heaven and earth to promote. Go ahead and assume that guy will get all of the breaks from the league and from officials.
I'm beginning to come around on Brandon Boston as a prospect. He absolutely stunk it up at Kentucky, but the measurables combined with the handle and buttery jump shot are hard to ignore. And I know it's not a huge deal, but he was a Top 5 recruit having a terrible season, playing for an underachieving blue-blood program. Fans absolutely tore into this kid. Could have pulled a Jalen Johnson and left the team to prep for the draft on his own (not a totally bad decision), but he kept his head down and worked. Supports what I've heard about his strong work-ethic and attitude.
Yeah that guy already exists in Luka. I'm fine drafting Europeans. They have a better chance of being a star.
