I am confused as to why this winter storm is top story on the national news. I know we lost power and water and we need help. But what about Chicago? The Windy City have seen a lot of 0-10 degrees temperature but they were never talked on the news. I guess Chicago get used to it.
I was in Minnesota at the time. The Twin Cities came really close to setting an all time record for most consecutive hours below 0. Only a brief move to 1 degree prevented it. In addition we had a few days of -20 and lower. It's just normal, so not very newsworthy. Same with Chicago.
Texas needs to get its compass **** together. Dallas is not ‘North’ Texas. That haboob is not ‘West’ Texas. Austin is not ‘central’ Texas.
Uh...Dallas *is* North Texas. The Panhandle is the Panhandle. The Hill Country *is* Central Texas, screw Centerville and Meridian and all that. As an aside, for some reason a bunch of gifs (like these) on twitter do not show/play for me, preview shows, then hit play and black screen. Any ideas?
Dallas isn't North at all. If you sliced the map into quarters, it's North East at best. Panhandle is North Texas. Agreed, Hill Country is Central Texas. Center, Texas is in South Texas. Centerville is at mile 164 on i45 and isn't even equidistant between Dallas and Houston. For fun there's also Midlothian, which sounds like a dwarf city from Lord of the Rings....which is also not the center of Texas. For your Twitter issues, reboot whatever device you're on. My wife is from Carthage where that movie takes place and knew old Bernie. Great movie and fantastic scene.
