The best make it to the top And lots of people hate the best There’s a reason Hakeem destroyed everyone in a one on one defense and teams had to double and triple team him. Then they started playing illegal defense and the refs wouldn’t call it. but Dream won cause Dream ruled cause he was the best big man is his time and probably all time Jeff Bezos is the Hakeem Olajuwon of winning check that mans wallet That’s what successfully business people do they are unstoppable like a dream shake or getting those protein shakes delivered free and next day at your door
From the tweet, these are the discussion topics I see. 1 and 2, are spilt milk and social media/political theatre. 3. is the most interesting. Do you guys agree with video warren's flat tax? 1. Does amazon pay its fair share of taxes? Warren: no they take advantage of loop holes Amazon: yes, we qualify for the tax benefits that senators put in. Feel free to change them. Clausing: Amazon isn't doing anything unique. 2. If we are unhappy with the outcomes of the tax laws who should we blame? The corps for following tax laws or Legislators for writing the tax laws? Corps for lobbying legislators, or Legislators for taking lobbyist $ and voting the way they do? 3. If we are unhappy with current tax laws and want evil amazon to pay more, is a flat tax without loopholes better? Warren proposed a flat tax (sounding strangely libertarian), and says it would have collected more taxes if applied to Amazon in 2020. The problem is if such a tax was in place in 2020 Amazon and other growth companies would have reported less taxable income by spending more on growth, which is how shareholders value their shares. More likely it's the dividend paying companies that need to have profits to distribute dividends that will shoulder a higher tax burden. By removing tax benefits, corps also revert to pre-benefit practices e.g. less focus on EVs or whatever pet cause Legislators have and felt the need to add credits for in the past. If the goal is just to collect more corporate taxes from Amazon, I think you have to tax corporate revenue, but this will impact companies with lower margins like walmart even more, and will have likely have unintended consequences that people won't like (higher consumer prices, less focus on growth and more on cost cutting/profits will likely lead to retrenchment), there would also be a lot of bankruptcies of weaker companies.
Marketsmith I'm sure other finance sites like Finviz will have the info But yahoo finance is not an accurate source
Who. Cares. Pay your fair share and eliminate loopholes all around. Otherwise it's the middle class who get squeezed, all while thinking they have a chance of being the next billionaire Elon Musk like that loser tinman. It's a fantasy. Just cut out loopholes and alot of social issues are solved. It really is that simple.
Did you even watch the video you posted? Warren contradicts your figures. By a lot. Finviz as well. https://finviz.com/quote.ashx?t=AMZN
Bezos is an exceptional businessman and he himself understood "you didn't build that". "If you go back to when I started Amazon, all of the heavy-lifting infrastructure to support Amazon was already in place. We did not have to invent a remote payment system. It was already there. It was called the credit card," he said. "We did not have to invent transportation - there was this thing called the postal service," he continued. "If we had had to deploy last-mile, it would've cost hundreds of billions of dollars." Jeff Bezos' Space Plan: Building Infrastructure For The Next Generation (forbes.com) Legally compliant doesn't mean "fair share". Amazon needs to do what's best for Amazon, legally of course. That's capitalism but that doesn't mean Amazon paid their fair share. I don't know what's a fair share and I'm sure that's different for each of us, but I do know that politicians depend on donors leading to a system that's more crony Capitalism than true Capitalism. ps. Bezos has always been a very interesting person to me. I recall a story of him still driving a Honda Accord when he was already a Billionaire with his desk made out of an old wooden door. A frugal lifestyle? A frugal business.
But Dream pays his taxes and asks for another. Bezos is Charles Barkley. 99ers should feel bad for picking Barkley over Dream.
no hiding, i think i've already put in too much effort into a thread where the OP doesn't even watch the content he spams. y don't u state what the issue is that i'm hiding from, and what you think is the solution.
The politicians made deals with large corporations to get tax breaks in order to create jobs so it's hypocritical that they want to go after the ones who the most successful as a whole, the politicians are against all businesses, small and large . nobody trusts these politicians, they trust the corporations.
A message from Jeff Bezos (aboutamazon.com) "We support the Biden Administration’s focus on making bold investments in American infrastructure. Both Democrats and Republicans have supported infrastructure in the past, and it’s the right time to work together to make this happen. We recognize this investment will require concessions from all sides—both on the specifics of what’s included as well as how it gets paid for (we’re supportive of a rise in the corporate tax rate). We look forward to Congress and the Administration coming together to find the right, balanced solution that maintains or enhances U.S. competitiveness." - Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO, Amazon
