This narrative that you don't want good players because they don't fit the timeline or would result in more wins = stupid. Assets are assets. If you have them, rest then liberally and run plays for younger players. We're not wining more games, don't have to wait till it's pay day and you can probably still get a second round pick in sign and trade - which is close enough to a first round swap to not matter. Trade the assets as soon as tradable, which is exactly what we tried with Oladipo. We just wanted to flip him. We could have dealt Allen and Levert for more than we got for Oladipo. No one would have believed those two will screw up for tank more than Dipo. It's a really poor position to be in for a rebuild. We are not in a horrible position despite these opportunities. Only the most putrid franchises can be poorly compared to us. That's the only positive thing we can say. Who else is happy with not being horrible? I was defending the Harden trade till the deadline. Getting value out of Oladipo was critical to swinging the trade to a 100% draft strategy. No winner is signing here for big money. The only players who would sign here for big money are those who care less about winning and convince themselves they can make it work even with the owner operating as a handicap. Going to take years to repair this reputation. Westbrook, Harden, MDA, Morey and Oladipo all said "**** NO" to being a well-paid core part of the Rockets. They have all moved to franchises that are trending up. It sucks that big FA's has kind of become our pipe dream again.
Rockets were outscored 31 to 10 the last period by the worst team in the NBA. The Rockets do not care either. You must not have been around in the 80s when Rockets tanked 2 years in a row. NBA changed the draft after Rockets got the number 1 pick 2 years in a row. After game last night the Rockets did not care about the loss. The fix is in. Dont cry about it. Rockets will get a top 4 pick.
Tillman is more worried about his empire not the Rockets. They are just a tool to make him more money. Shut up and Listen.
I wondered if that was it. I kind of misread the thread title at first glance. anyway, I'll let you have the next one.
