Honestly as someone who follows the Rockets closely, I don't even know what our style of play will be or even is, what players fit our system, and what our rebuild timeline actually is. I knew these answers when Harden was here since he and MDA had a system and direction I understood, but honestly I do not know any of those answers now, so I guess I am ignorant as well. That is probably why I do not respect this front office, because I genuinely do not know what they are trying to do, and their rebuild timeline I think they didn't even know and has been reset after they started losing games, I genuinely believe they thought they had a playoff team after the Harden trade. They seemed to be trying to be competitive with getting Oladipo and letting his value diminish by holding him that long and letting Miami dictate the value by waiting until the last minute. They then lose 20 games straight and now are going the tanking route, so I do not think they even knew what our rebuild timeline was, and since we are now dumping players for close to nothing, I do not even think they know what system we even have. A lot of our players tanked their value, and you see that when there is a lack of respect for the coach, owner, and front office. Harden didn't cause any troubles until all of these people were replaced, same with PJ.
I did get it as a joke... that's why the LOL... hard to tell on a message board, I get it... Entirely possible they are the Rolling Stones and not the Beatles... but if you thought those picks Boston got were good wait until you see Brooklyn as a basketball wasteland... I'd like to think it's trendy to play there to get free agents... see Knicks... not a given...
Good take. I do hear Coach talking about 5 out system etc. So I assume that is still our system, with lots of 3 and D players. Do we have the players for that system? No. We have an abundance of short players that can't shoot. They are trying to rebuild now. It is time. So most fans will not like the losing/tanking. It will get worse before it gets better. I have always liked the rebuild phase. Drafting and watching players develop is fun. Through the draft, we need long players with lateral quickness and mobility, switch defenders who are shooters. We could use an Ariza type, a Siakim type (if he could shoot) and also a physical player enforcer type . Get them in our system, like Spurs, and coach them up in our style. Pops always has a pipeline. Rox not so much since Morraayyy did not value the draft like that. We shall see.
