I can't believe we used Jarret Allen, a 22 year old who's already one of the top defensive centers in the league, to salary dump prince.

then gave a second round pick to offload another really good player in Levert and turn him into basically nothing.

like, the nets gave us good players too. the trade wasn't just the picks. but now it is. 7 picks is all we get for James. and the "swap" this year and in 2023 won't convey since we will be worse than the nets. their pick in 2022 is likely to be very low. the only impact picks that will convey are 2024-2027.

so really it comes down to 4 picks and a bunch of cash.

Heat just lost to Portland by 3. This trade took away two solid role players from Miami (including one who’s one of the best small guard defenders in the league).

Since we have Portland’s pick, this trade may have cost us positioning this year.

Allen does not fit the Rox system. Worse fit than Capela, and he requires the Max contract next year. LeVert is mediocre and makes 17.5 million. What is your point? If they are so great, beyond a first rounder and Oladipo why did not teams step up and make better offer? We need young players on cheap contracts during rebuild.

The mass LeVert had removed from his kidney was cancerous.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nba.com/news/pacers-caris-levert-has-surgery-to-treat-kidney-cancer?amp=1

Indiana Pacers swingman Caris LeVert had successful surgery to treat a renal cell carcinoma of his left kidney, the team announced Tuesday. LeVert will be out indefinitely and is expected to make a full recovery from the procedure, the Pacers said in a statement.

I guess that's a silver lining to come from the trade, otherwise he might not have discovered the tumor.

Avery Bradley has only played 10 games. He's not been important for them.

And they're going to sign Aldridge to replace Olynyk.

LeVert stats are worse than Dipo. Dipo had a 34 point game recently, so what? LeVert is on a 17.5 million contract and is not a 1st or 2nd star player, maybe not even 3rd star. He is a dime a dozen player. And wrong team timeline for that size contract. Why were no better offers made in the open market for LeVert at that salary?

There were several articles and videos about this Harden culture including quotes from Brodie. For example:

    https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/30528130/inside-james-harden-houston-rockets-breaking-point

"But the lack of discipline and attention to detail hasn't been OK with Paul and Russell Westbrook, ultimately leading to breakups between Harden and those two stars."

"Harden insisted the Rockets get the deal done, saying he'd demand a trade if they didn't find a way to bring his childhood friend and former OKC teammate to Houston, sources said. The Rockets paid a price that was considered steep at the time -- Paul, 2024 and 2026 first-round picks, and swap rights in 2021 and 2025.

When we were talking about Capela not being a great fit, that was when we were competing for championships.
Remember that? It wasn't that long ago. Right before Tilman bought the team.

Now we suck. When you stuck, you don't care about things like fit. Only thing that matters is assets.
I wasn't crazy about getting Allen and LeVert for James MF Harden, but they would have been better assets and would have gotten us more than this trash

Before Harden we had won, what, one playoff series in like 15 years? Or something like that? It sure looks like we are about to go through another stretch like that soon

Agreed, this is pure comedy gold central.
Rockets kept emphasizing they need young players with potential in return, so they practically turned LeVert into Bradley and Allen into Olynyk when all said and done....makes perfect sense roflmao.

I think we are all flummoxed by this. The FO I have really come to respect is GSW. Their payroll is the highest in the league. They owe Wiggins over 60M in the next two seasons and Green over 75 in the next 3. They have assets the rest of the league covers and teams that would gladly take either of those players and save the team tons of cash for FRPs. And instead of salary dumping, they're holding, even though Wiggins role next season will be non-existent or at least diminished with the return of Klay.

THAT'S an FO I could respect. Because they're focused on what will be best for the roster and team long term. They're not going to trade away good picks to salary dump. This FO, well, it's a joke.

The GSW has higher budget and that comes from ownership. The large budget gives a lot of flexibility to FO but FO shouldnt get any credit for it.

Harden from OKC was the best one. I'm happy with Wood for the 16th pick. KPJ is certainly worth the gamble for a SRP.
The majority of them have been average to terrible.

This all started with freaking westbrook trade. All I can hope for now is atleast no one on the roster wants to be traded.
