WOW! Is gone and a new era is about to start. Is Wall apart of it? His current play only has value if taking is the true goal. Him and Silas all hugged up after our single victory in months was just sickening. How can development happen with the veteran starting point guard taking 1/2 the shots every night? I knew he wouldn’t be traded but we are at a crossroads with his current playing style. Can Silas reel Wall in and stay employed? It’s not like coach is doing a stellar job. Do the rotations change or will Wall even except Silas as the coach? Wall did wave off the coach’s final play a few games back. The next game is a new beginning...
There is nothing to do w Wall except wait for his deal to expire and then trade him. He costs 41M a year no team wants that on their books. There are talks of him getting his knee scoped Id do it if I were him so Id miss half a season of losing and then try again next year.
You keep Wall, let him continue to drag the team down bc you are NOT trying to win during the balance of his contract, and eventually it will disappear and hopefully you can use that cap space to get some good players when you are ready to win, if you have a little luck in the draft and trade market.
ideally the front office wants him to get hurt and sit out a couple years so insurance pays his salary instead of tilphuck
this will probably be a topic in the future tho if they can’t trade him, especially if we keep our pick and draft a guard or someone who we want to have control of the offense
wait until the deadline in 2023 after leaking that there are teams who want him bad and trade him for worse players on less money who are also expiring and also get a pick swap 1-28 protected that will convert into a SRP in 2029.
What you said is just dirty and cold blooded, but you should expect an interview from Tilman by tomorrow.
WOW has just begun... Wood Olynyk Wall!!!!! Oh hell who am I kidding... I'm always super optimistic, but even I can't talk myself into that joke.
There is zero reason to buy him out. 1. he sucks on the floor. 2. his contract is still one of the worst in the NBA, but you need sh'tty contract like that to reach the floor.
He is helping us tank so he has value. oh wait, what am I saying? Let him just do his knee scope so that we play younger guys and tank. That is clearly the better option as this point.
Like there was no reason for the Pistons to buy out Blake Griffin? Vets with large salaries on bottom feeder teams get bought out all the time.
