I can completely see why Tilman made the move. 2021 and 2022 FA crop looks awful. Only value is in the draft. Trade Wall at deadline next season for a couple more picks. Focus on 2023 and beyond.
Team was not going to make money this year even if they made the playoffs. No team is making any money this year because of COVID. The alternative universe where we kept Harden, we’d be a seven seed first round exit with nothing to look forward to in the draft.
They wanted to keep Harden. Harden had "culture issues" with perennial teammate LTS and missed not seeing his buddy Cash Considerations at the nudie bar.
I have no clue what he’s trying to say. He understands why Tilman made the Harden trade because the next 2 free agent classes aren’t good? OP, stop day drinking
at this rate, this team won’t be making any money for the next 5+ years because they will be trash, no one will buy tickets and go to the games when they allow full capacity unless tickets are dirt cheap, and there will be no playoffs
Harden wanted out because the tank was already in. That’s why Morey and D’Antoni left. We traded for injured players to help tank. 2021 2022 and 2023 drafts will be very pivotal for future of NBA.
If you want to build around Harden, there’s nothing in the FA class to help him. Only choice was to tank and rebuild. Four first round picks in 2021 and 2022 > seven FA signings—and cheaper. LA locked and loaded with both teams. Denver locked and loaded. Dallas has the next white James Harden. GS back at full strength next year. We’ll push .500 in 2023 and have some of the most promising young talent in the league. We’ll be the new Denver.
I get it. This is a clever "Wait until you see the amazing things we do at next year's trade deadline!" thread.
Next year. . . post covid . . . full crowds allowed Rockets will not be selling out the arena Rocket River
Who is going to give Stone draft picks for Wall? Have you seen what we have received in return for better assets with better contracts? Best we get is some sort of random unfavorable pick swap, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up losing someone like KJ or Tate just to move his contract.
