The Rockets have the option to swap the Nets 2022 first-round pick that they already owned for Miami’s 2022 first-round pick. Since Brooklyn is more talented than Miami, you figure that might be a five to ten spot improvement for the Rockets.
Woohoo! I'm glad that was clarified... Stone went 1-on-1 with the Godfather and got his ass handed to him. Kelly O can rebound a bit and shoot the three, but we really didn't need another PG. Need to leverage this into developing the younger guys and continuing the tank.
Seriously. What is the ceiling on a team with Simmons as No. 1 option? How many title teams did not have one of the 5 best players on the planet at the time? In the past 50 years, you can count them on 1 hand. Plus with Simmons, you will always be just good enough to not draft a true star, and it is not like Simmons going to draw another star to the Rockets. The only option was always a pick laden deal.
You can't blame the owner for covid, we are all suffering and the fertita family are human just like the rest of us. They deserve our support! So glad they are saving more money in this time of need.
1. Would you rather have Caris Levert on his current contract? 2. Or expiring contracts and the Miami 2022 pick swap? I'd honestly go with option 2.
