Maybe, but my hunch is that they might want to squeeze more out of us. I would love to be wrong.

Rafael, just accept Olynyk, Avery Bradley and a 2nd round pick and call it a day.

doubt it. cf's has been defaulting the knicks for bailing out houston for a while now. They haven't. Roles have changed

Dipo lowered his trade value by mainly only wanting Miami, and by playing like a huge scrub...for most of his time with us, he was basically Westbrook if u cut his rebounds and assists in half

the trade deadline isn’t over yet tho

Wouldn't be surprised if keeping him for a sign and trade ends up being more palatable for Stone. Unless it's the Knicks or Miami, it seems no other team will be willing to part with really that much for him. Not sure which contenders out there have 1st round picks to offer, and the salary filler to get him as a rental. Maybe I'm missing a team. Maybe Boston???.. Does anyone have any faith in Ainge actually pulling the trigger on a deal like this?

Sounds more and more that if a deal is done it's going to be with the Hawks, at least that's the feeling i have, Miami will probably stand pat unless Toronto is happy with getting Duncan Robinson and maybe Achiuwa, which sounds hard to believe to me, Morey giving up on Lowry probably means the asking price is pretty high.

Ainge ain't trading for Dipo unless he moves Kemba, and even that wouldn't really make sense since at least Kemba is a PG, Dipo would be redundant with Brown.

It's almost like some of y'all didn't/don't understand the plan.

The Harden trade was perfect cause it netted optionality with the assets. If things were going well... as they were at first before all the continued injuries (remember they went 7-3 off the Harden trade), they could push for a fun playoff run.

If things weren't going well, they get to either try and trade Dipo for more assets, or create cap space.

The key to all of this is if things are NOT going well, you WANT TO SUCK.

What would LeVert do for us? For one, he's not amazing. For two, he's now of course out for a while. The only reasonable thing to note is could they have flipped LeVert for something else? Maybe... who knows... i suspect there are probably a lot of teams that wouldn't have continued with the trade once LeVert's cancer was discovered... the Pacers were unique in that they weren't going to keep Dipo in any situation and had to move him to get anything back AND they weren't really expecting to compete for a chip this year or anything so could wait on him.

If Dipo gets you ANYTHING and that includes cap space and sucking more next year, great. If not, your worst case is sucking more ... which is what they need here.

TLDR; if yo think this team is going to go back to a potential championship team in the next year or even two, your expectations are off. You should be looking at all moves in the light of where will this get us for the 2024 season or the like.

I don’t want draft bust talent. Give us picks. Let us make our own draft busts ;)
