Really good player but not sure there's a place for him in today's NBA due to his limited athleticism and pnr sets. I just can't see it.
Playmaking/running an offense is just one of those foundational skills that impacts so much of a team. Cunningham has that plus great size that makes him a high floor, high ceiling type of player that you want with a number one pick.
So since people wanted to make such a big deal out of Cade’s performance in the NCAA Tournament, why are the Suggs fans so quiet about his play so far? 2 games: 7-21 from the field, 1-9 from 3, 5 assists, and 8 turnovers That’s supposed to put him ahead of Cade?
I really don’t get having Suggs as your #1 pick...he looks to have the lowest upside and is the most boring pick out of the consensus top 5 I love Jalen Green, he’s a very exciting prospect...very explosive, but also skilled with Cade, I love that he can easily play several different positions with his height and wingspan combined with his shooting and skill
But it's only two games...or does that only apply to Cade? Suggs team is blowing opponents out by an average of 30, they haven't needed him. In spots he has looked explosive and spectacular, as usual, which is more than can be said of Cade. For the entirety of the season Suggs has put up better numbers than Cade, higher efficiency high PER, let's not even talk about winning but I don't hold that against Cade. With that said Suggs and Mobley were always 1a and 1b for me but it's starting to look like Mobley is pulling away.
2 tournament games was all it took for Cade to “not be a winner” and slip, but for Suggs, it’s excuses time. Slightly better efficiency and PER? Yes. Better numbers? Lol, no. In no world is 14, 5, and 4 better numbers than 20, 6, and 4. Nice try tho. Winning? Lmao, this is pretty much the same Gonzaga team that went 31-2 last year. Meanwhile, Oklahoma State finished barely above .500 last season. Gimme a break with that nonsense as if Cade wouldn’t have been winning a ton in Gonzaga as well. Gonzaga is so good Suggs can play like absolute trash, and it’s “doesn’t matter, Gonzaga hasn’t needed him.” Lol
You know 20 6 4 is about what Andrew Wiggins averaged last year right? There is absolutely a way for 14 5 4 in 7 less minutes to be more impactful to winning, that's what per, ws, bpm, efficiency etc are trying to measure. Btw per 40 minutes Suggs averaged 20.2 points, on a stacked team and as a dpoy candidate. Cade? 22.8 points as the undisputed number 1 option. A whole 2 points more.
Me personally, I’m not a fan of the big man in general so I would be more excited with Cade and Green. It’s really not a big man’s league unless you’re Embiid, AD, or Jokic caliber. The potential is undeniable tho. Kuminga has great athleticism and physical tools, but he needs major work on his shooting...his entire playing history up until this point is basically terrible shooting on high volume in the G-League: 25% from 3 on 5 attempts a game, and 63% from the line on 4 attempts a game in the 2019 Nike EYBL, he shot 30% from 3 on 8 attempts a game and 63% from the line...he shot 55% from the line in the 2018 EYBL they say free throw shooting is probably the greatest indicator of your ability as a shooter and success as a shooter in the NBA, and well, we see how that’s been going for him...with that said, if he developed an adequate shot, he could be a very good 2-way player
lmao, this dude really just brought up Andrew Wiggins... Wiggins 20 points came on below average efficiency, Cade’s didn’t...Wiggins 20 points came on 1 of the worst teams in the league...Cade guided his team to a 21-9 record Hmmm, I wonder what those advanced stats would be for Cade if he was on a team as great as Gonzaga while Suggs was down there in Oklahoma State? Sure does help your efficiency when you’re not the sole focus of the defense like Cade was every night and don’t have to force up shots all the time because your team needs scoring and hardly anyone else can provide it. And even then, still had 57% TS and shot 40% from 3 on mostly unassisted attempts. Cade plays bad in the tournament: not a winner, slips in rankings Suggs plays even worse: doesn’t matter, his team doesn’t need him keep the excuses coming
Suggs is more efficient and averages only 2 less points per 40 minutes, with elite defense. Put him on ok state and he's putting up 25-30 as the number 1 option. It doesn't take advanced stats just half a brain.
Looking at Wall, if we indeed get a top 3 pick and get one of the guards how are we going to indeed navigate the development around Wall?
