For a 35 year old Lowry, it definitely doesn't make sense to give up Herro. For a 28 year old Dipo in his prime, it definitely makes sense. Miami's window is now and Herro is not some sort of future superstar cornerstone. I can't imagine Pat being that short sighted. Personally, not a fan of Herro, but I wouldn't be mad.
Never, EVER give up the Great White Hope. They never become Nopes. Keep Hope Alive. Look at all the middle-aged white posters here who still crave Kevin Love’s corpse.
they keep bringing up this “the Heat can sign them with cap space” like it’s a real thing. The Heat have $20 million in cap space if they decline all of their team options. They can get to $25+ if they let their RFAs walk. So they might be able to get Oladipo or Lowry in free agency, but they will lose everything else. It’s just posturing.
Nba has so much movement. A contract is only for money. The team can always change via trade. The contract doesn’t mean I wanna stay the whole time here. It just means That’s the salary I want.
You said "Hasn't Stein" and my heart read "Hartenstein" and I got super excited only to realize I had misread. So disappointing.
It does if you're going all-in for this season. Lowry gives you a two year window to keep Butler happy, assuming Butler really wants him.
My theory is Rockets are trying to trade for Drummonds for the Lakers(so it would not be a BIG TIME BUYOUT FIGHT) against the Nets. So Houston gives a FRP to Cleveland Drummonds goes to the Lakers and we get Kuzman.....forget Aaron Gordon
