Yep, that's the way I see it. Used it on troubled Kevin Porter at the time. Rockets will use it on buy out candidates. But they want contender.
Was that the argument? Reports said the 76ers were only offering two, protected FRPs in addition to Simmons. The overall draft capital was far greater with the Nets trade.
Did anyone ever think he was of equal value to Simmons? I just thought we got more picks from Brooklyn.
Not talking about their talent, that is obvious. At least to me. I was talking about trade value. Many spouted that Dipo was a better trade commodity because Simmons growth has flat lined and was on 5 year execrable contract while Dipo was a true 2 way player on expiring contract with Bird rights.
don't forget Woj's rumors have not been anymore reliable than any one else's, when it comes to Trade Deadline.
The Heat are kind of a puzzle. It seems they want Lowry, but if you’re the Raptors, what deal can they put together that is attractive without Herro? And let’s say the Heat plan to just sign Oladipo in the offseason. They only have like $20 million in cap space...and that leaves them without any ability to upgrade the roster in the future.
Not to sidetrack this thread again, but Rockets never presented Nets counter to 76ers so we will never know how Morey would have added to their 1st offer. Its like comparing apples to grapefruit otherwise.
They can probably make a deal work with Precious, Duncan and KZ. To sign Oladipo they have to renounce Iggy, Dragic, Olynyk, and Bradley. They likely have to renounce Duncan and Nunn too. A big misdirect on the ease they would have to clear cap space for Oladipo. Trading for his bird rights is so valuable.
I hope Phila gets in there and forks over some real talent for Lowry. I want a desperate Miami negotiating with Rafael Stone for Wall/Oladipo.
