He's definitely more than capable, but it won't be easy.... You're acting like Harden hasn't beaten great teams undermanned before in one off games
Hard agree. Kyrie would definitely take a lot more days off, considering how bad this team would look with an injured KD. Kyrie couldn't carry a starless Cavs team, so he definitely wouldn't want to try and carry a starless Nets team.
It will show with his accumulation of stats. The only player that may be with when you take points assists and rebounds into account will be Lebron. Otherwise every player will come up short in one of the categories.
Harden listed as questionable for tomorrow with neck soreness. If Kyrie can take a week off to celebrate his birthday Harden with a busted neck can take a game off
Harden should sit out at least one of these games. If I were the Nets, I’d sit him Tuesday and Wednesday. They are running him into the ground. He has had the whole team on his back for months now. Where would they be right now without him? Lottery maybe.
No they arent. First of all they are defending champs. They are going to compete. They arent going to mail it in just because lebron isnt playing. They will probably have a better record than the rockets over the stretch and rockets have two former all stars.
BK would be a non-factor this year if not for Harden...Kyrie misses a game or 2 every week, and KD’s missed weeks of game action if Harden had been traded to Philly, they’d dust BK if Embiid is healthy and would’ve made the finals
I watched this movie too many times. Firstly Kyrie/KD gets injured in the playoffs, then 'Harden was run to the ground/no help' excuses will come
I don’t even think the Rockets are a borderline playoff team in 17-18 without Harden...CP3 missed 24 games, and that team did not have much offensive talent...it certainly wasn’t to the level he had with the Clippers the Wolves were the 8th seed with 47 wins and Denver 9th with 46...it was a strong year for the WC which made the 65 wins even more impressive than it already was
People in preseason thought the 2017 Rockets were a borderline playoff team with James Harden - then when he went supernova and the Rockets were good - those same people argued that it was just the Rockets abundance of weapons & help that made this happen, therefore Russ TRIP DOUB was the REAL MVP.
I personally had us as a 45-48 win, 6-8th seed playoff team that was gonna lose in the 1st round...I was shocked that Harden actually signed an extension that summer because I thought he was gonna start looking elsewhere after our eventual 1st round exit I still can’t believe we started 31-9 that year I remember the summer we traded for CP3, many on here thought OKC was better than us, and even towards the end of the season, many were still terrified of OKC...the same OKC that got handled with relative ease by Utah led by a rookie year Donovan Mitchell
I think most poeple has underestimated undervalued harden at some point including me and that's totally understandable but at this point it's ridiculous / delusional to still refuse to give him an ounce of credit and blame harden for holding back the "championship-caliber" rockets teams built around him
The Nets in talks with Toronto for a deal for Norman Powell and Windhorst confirmed their interest . Another sniper for Harden to work with if they get it done
