Somewhere between 15%-20% of American women over the age of 17 have either been raped or have been a victim of attempted rape.... and only a small portion of them are reported.

We know that women often need time to deal with what happened, and victims of rape often feel a lot of guilt associated with the event. Further, a rape investigation is extremely difficult for the victim.

If someone wants to know why women do not report rape, look no farther than the Kobe Bryant fiasco.... it was so bad for the rape victim that the mental health treaters actually wrote to the prosecutors requesting they drop the case because seeking justice for the victim was worse than just accepting the rapist would walk free.

Yes. It is a civil complaint so it is very bare bones, the plaintiff counsel does that on purpose, the holes will be filled in by the plaintiff. They always sound cheesy. If you look at all the complaints you will see where parts are the exact same for every complaint, that is on purpose as well.

 

Literally everything. Like the whole thing. Are you really this dense? Have you lived in a bubble your whole life where your parents never let you watch the Mary Tyler Moore Show or Murphy Brown or any depiction of a career-driven women in media? Not sure where your hamburger helper comment comes from considering most of our meals include baked, broiled, roasted or grilled meats and vegetables or pots of soup, chili or stew.

False, in a court of law one is presumed innocent until proven guilty....... when it comes to personal opinions or society, that has never been the case. Look at OJ Simpson, he was criminally found innocent but has been a pariah. Also this is a civil case and not a criminal case.

I don't know how this will play out. On one hand the likelihood that over 20 women would come forward with similar claims, have been vetted and have had complaints filed is extremely rare. On the other hand, unless there is evidence not known at this time (such as text messages on Watson's phone to other people discussing what he did) then it is going to be hard to beat Rusty Hardin.

However, even if Watson prevails on the civil suits, with the number of women claiming to be victims and the very questionable means that Watson has used to get these massages, a lot of people are going to think he did something wrong. At this point Watson has already lost, the question is how much and to what degree has he lost.

 

I think you may have unrealistic expectations of a relationship. I've met the kind of women that you talk about, but those type of women usually don't have any goals in life and just want to be maintained by their man. I don't think it has anything to do with idea of a "modern" woman, but it has to do more with the social advances that women have been able to accomplish over the past few decades. The women I've met in the workplace and in college, aspired to be "strong independent women" that didn't depend on a man to survive. Maybe it's anecdotal, but those are my observations.

I agree with that, I think the biggest disadvantage Watson has is the fact that he was intentionally seeking out unlicensed massage therapists working out of their homes when if he really wanted legitimate massages, he could have gone to just about any good hotel in the country or through agencies and found licensed massage therapists to provide a higher quality service.....it seems pretty obvious he was looking for services that legitimate massage therapists don't provide. That means our starting point is Watson acting illegally and arguably immorally, that makes it MUCH harder for him to suggest it's more likely than not that everyone is just lying and he's actually a saint.

Even worse, I don't really see a middle ground that would help him. If he admits he was hitting them up for prostitution, he looks like a creep, if he suggests that wasn't his intent, he looks like a liar.

That's why despite the lack of hard evidence, I don't think he can win these cases unless the women fall apart when their claims are scrutinized. Rusty Hardin has made a career out of getting guilty people out of trouble, but he's really going to have to pull a rabbit out of his hat on this one. Maybe he is able to win some of the cases, but I don't think he can win all of them.

 

And on the flip side, it makes it harder for these women to act traumatized when propositioned because it happens all the time within the massage niche they chose to operate in. You are right about this not being a good look for Watson under any circumstance.

Rusty got Roger Clemons acquitted for lying to congress about using PEDs when they literally shipped PEDs to his house. His defense? His wife took them, not him. Do you think Rusty isn't going to destroy these women? Find out if they have ever sold their bodies for sex to other clients?

 

That may be your assumption, but first of all, they were all highly inexperienced so Watson may have been their first sexual predator of any kind, secondly I don't think any amateur masseuse often has millionaires forcing themselves on them.

That's true, but in that situation, we're talking about a victimless crime. It's a LOT easier to get someone off for something like that than when they are attacking over a dozen women.

The problem with attacking the women too harshly is that it can backfire spectacularly. They can just say "see how we're being attacked, this is why we didn't want to come forward before now, this is how people like Watson get away with it" and the next thing you know your client is paying several times what they would have in a settlement.

Furthermore, it's not even relevant. It's not legal to rape a hooker. You'd almost be admitting guilt if you tried to portray the women as prostitutes as a justification for Watson whipping his dick out at them.
