they're going to lose to ohio OU is definitely missing Harmon's points this game. Reaves dying out there
Luka Garza's college career is over. How good is he? Is he like Tyler Hansbrough, where he was one of the best big men (ever) in college, but can't/couldn't excel in the NBA? Or is he better than that comparison?
Totally limited athletically for the NBA, but has some of the best offensive skills, balance, and brains you'll ever see in a college bigman. He'll play 15 years either on the end of an NBA bench and/or more likely in Europe.
Learned today that Abilene was the first team in Tournament history to shoot under 30% (29.9) and win. Their defense looks legit again today, UCLA is making contested shots though, but it would be nice if they'd hit a shot or grab an offensive rebound (after they pounded UT on the boards). If they're gonna beat UT, the least they could do is beat UCLA.
UCLA can match how hard Abilene plays and they're just a better team. Cronnin led teams will always have the effort. Should be a blowout soon enough. Shams on UT losing to this team lol
That description seems like how Nikola Jokic was described in his draft profile, though. Not saying Garza is the second coming of Jokic, but hopefully it works out for Garza in the NBA. That Krutwig fella of Loyola seems like Jokic too.
Best thing he's got going for him along with brains and fundamentals is that he's perfected his outside shot. Can you hide him on defense for stretches though, if the matchups work? You'd almost have to play a quasi-zone with some rim protection alongside him, I'd think. He was sure fun to watch in college and I'll be rooting for him just because. You don't get 1st team All-American and Big10 POY 2 years in a row for nothing.
I filled mine out in 10 minutes after 15 minutes of research and it's just as jacked up as the historical ones I took time to do. Except for the 2 of 38 I actually won since 1982.
I still can't believe the spanking USC gave on Kansas. This is really a bad year for the old guard big names.
Same here. I feel we did not play good at all against Rutgers. I am hoping they get hot, especially Grimes and Sasser from the 3. Also hope Tyson sees some time against Cuse's zone. Also hope Tramon really lets loose and stop being passive.
I don't think we are going to get easy 3's against the Syracuse zone. They play the exact opposite of the Cougars. We take away the paint. They take away the 3 with a high zone. But truth be told, they are not so good, so we might get some.
Literally using that game (Abilene/UT) to teach kids I coach that this is exactly how you lose a game you shouldn't while also being a game where you win a game you shouldn't. Effort, rebounds, second chances can overcome a lot...and when you're coaching 11-12 year olds, it's virtually everything, because they're not good enough shooters to overcome being outhustled.
