More Painful? 27 Straight Missed 3s or 20 Straight Losses

This shouldnt be a topic, The answer is obivious and thats 27 miss 3s. Which was a game 7 that would lead to NBA finals. This 20 losing streak who cares, It help us % wise to land a top 4 pick in the summer. If it goes our way

This isn’t even close. We hit 1/4th of those 27 misses, we most likely have a ring right now and wouldn’t be going through that losing streak.

 

Every possession John Wall remains on the Rockets is the most painful memory to me.

 

Not even close. We were trying to make those 3s. We aren't trying to win these games.

 

if we didn't miss 27 3s we probably wouldn't have had to witness/experience 20 straight losses. That was our year for a championship. CP3, Harden, Capela, Tucker, and Ariza would probably still be around. We would still have all of our draft picks. MDA and Morey might still be around.

we had a chance to make the finals and win a title for the 1st time since 1995 (23 years), and missed 27 straight threes in a game 7 we lost by 9...27 straight missed threes had never been done before...a statistical anomaly so rare, it’s still hard to believe

there have been longer losing streaks than 20 straight, and there have been plenty 17 and 18 game losing streaks that fell just short

we’re trying to keep our top 4 protected pick, so the losing serves a purpose...no one will even care about this losing streak next season...it was a little astonishing that we were that bad, but that’s about it

Rockets lost a bunch of games in a row in a process/tanking season with no fans, no good players or national TV, OMG I will never get over the pain!

The 27 missed 3's is largely meaningless. Silver and his second string would not have allowed Houston to win.

20 straight losses .... is here to stay. Until next year when we hit 30.

 

27 missed threes easily because of the expectations and what would have happened if we had a normal 3pt shooting night(eventual champions).

 

I haven’t watched a Rockets game in months. So, no pain.

The fall-on-your-face finish against the Warriors in back to back years was pretty damn painful.

 

You must be anti-tank to ask such a question.

I would of been fine going 0-72 this season (or whatever number of games we are playing) and not felt the pain of missing 27 threes in a row, especially when we had a double digit lead that game.

 

I contend we only need the three 3s that they screwed us on. Which would had made us 1-25. that's how big of a lead we had when it started.

If Foster calls the definite fouls on the two 3s early in the streak, and counts the basket for a 4pt play early in the 3rd, that he said was a foul on the floor, then ...

remember, we were up 15 points in late 2ndQ when the first two non-calls happened, and one led to a break-away fastbreak 3pt by Klay, because JH got hit so bad it clanked like an outlet pass. Very definite chance we punch that to a 20 point lead ... with the proper foul calls in late 2nd, and the 4pt play early in the 3rd.

GSW got a little jolt of success at end of half, whereas JH goes into lockerroom feeling screwed by Foster

 

The real question is which is more pitiful?

 

I don’t know why people are so caught up in this losing streak. It needed to happen. We are trying to loose. Maybe not 20 games, but who cares???

 

Well, 27 missed 3's can lead to a heartbreaking playoffs upset, while 20+ straight losses in a row can lead to a good 1st round pick. What do you think?

 

Missed 3s. This is already a lost season. Missed 3s means a lot next year. More shakeup on the roster should be done.
