I’m just saying I disagree with that. If you’re telling me some team and I’m being ridiculous here is gonna make a godfather offer for smart than yes he’s available lol. But thats being ridiculous. smarts available for a Collins, a lonzo maybe, vucevic and SOME other teams they aren’t actively shopping him at all. Ainge will listen to any deal and no smart isn’t untouchable obviously but they aren’t just trading him away. He’s available in certain deals
haven’t seen him play much but the lack of shooting and average stat production is concerning given where he was drafted. Looks like he might be able to play some D. I’m certainly not optimistic about him or Reddish; doesn’t mean they couldn’t eventually pan out. Kicking the tires on both for Vic straight up (with filler) certainly wouldnt be a terrible move.
Exactly. Dipo was supposed to only want Heat when he was traded to Rockets. It happens, it happens but I'm sure this is just posturing right now. Not too many postseason contenders have the assets that Magic purportedly require.
He missed the first 10 games of the season, and he has been stuck behind Capela. He also has had a couple day to day injuries as well. He was only at USC for one year as well, and he is still raw in some ways. He can really excel in the pick and roll but Atlanta just doesn't seem willing to let him take his lumps and learn how to play.
Sounds perfect. Love to have an athletic C to really experiment with Wood at PF so we have a better idea of what we need in the offseason.
Is this a deal you came up with or is this something you heard is actually getting discussed? Because i think this deal is in line with what the Rockets should be trying to get. As much young talent as possible and hope that someone somehow works out.
Amen. Doesn't prevent the tank, but If one of these players figures it out we are looking goooooood. Wish we could find some 19 year old that could really shoot the rock though.
Dinwiddie + Claxton gets it done but I’d pass on that from the Nets perspective, Claxton is a young stud
As a Boston resident and casual Celtics watcher, I really get the sense Smart is the glue guy, the heart of the team. Correct me if I’m wrong, because I’m sure you know the team better than me. Not saying they are terrible without him, but I feel like Smart gives them that extra edge that can put them over the top when things are clicking. I would be surprised if Ainge trades Smart away unless they are getting an actual star/superstar back in the package.
What I've never understood about the Westbrook trade: why did Morey agree to limit the protections to top-4? He couldn't have gotten a top-5 or top-7? As bad as the trade was, just that little bit would have made things so much better.
LAL has entered the chat.. Without LeBron and AD, they're at risk of falling to play-in level seed. At this stage in LeBron's career, they should be willing to do ANYTHING to compete for a championship and now that includes paying up to stay a top 4-5 seed. Oladipo would be perfect to help them stay competitive while LeBron and AD recover. Is it possible to arrange something that matches salaries while we acquire THT and their 2027 1st (the only young assets we'd want).
