Today was the first time I seen Wood look visibly mad at the end of the game

When wood left with the injury, the team was clicking on all cylinders. We were the top 1/2 defense in the game. These “vets” who already got paid got used to their old ways - let me get my stats up.
I was hopeful. I'll admit. Wall still playing 2015-style basketball. If you're a PG and dont shoot 35%+ 3pt (unless you're Simmons), you have no business calling yourself the franchise player. You obviously ain't got no clout since your BFF was sacked. Stone, please make a move already. I'd rather watch decent basketball and tank than watch J.Wall trying to channel D. Lilliard.

I think Silas has said something way back when Cousins walked. Wall & Oladipo are way to vested to just leave. The next few days should be interesting.

Ok but why bring that in here and say it multiple times.

Star a thread or put it one of the threads talking about Wood's game.

Man, I really like Wood as a player and seems like a level headed person too. Someone in the thread said he's no KAT - I disagree, I bet his on court impact would be better than KAT right now if he were on the Wolves because his defense is FAR superior to KAT's while KAT is not much better on offense. Still, I would trade Wood for KAT because I know we would be able to dupe someone into taking KAT for a better player than both of them, but I don't believe KAT wins more games than Wood even at this point in Wood's career.

He's the team's best player and the next 2 players are clearly not trying to win games. I can't believe we offered Dipo an extension. Thinking about it now, he wants to go to Miami for big dollars, he seems to be a guy who is more about the lifestyle than winning.

I'm not mad at the losing streak, but Wood's reaction is encouraging.

What I like about this situation is Silas didn't want his first season to be a bad one because it's hard for a first time coach to turn that reputation around.

Instead, he's gone full tank, which is kind of smart. He wants to make it blatantly incredibly clear that this was a tank year and has no relation to his coaching skills. I hope he spends most of his time developing Wood and Porter, no amount of coaching will turn Wall into a winner.

I would argue there ARE NOT too many great coaches. There are too many coaches that will have you treading water. If they were great, they would have indefinite tenure at a franchise, like Popovich. If you want great, you have to find them before they prove they're great. That means taking some risks, which is exactly what the Rockets did. I believe in the decision they made on Silas... it may not work out, but I think they had EXACTLY the right strategy with the hire.

Also, even among "great" coaches, there are many whose skills and strengths just happen to align with the team they have. Put them on a different team and they fail (Phil Jackson, NYK). Unfortunately, not only do you need a great coach to win it all, but they have to fit the team and situation.

Yeah I love the guy (Wood), but torn on whether it's worth keeping him since the team is going nowhere fast. Leaning towards including him in a glorified Oladipo dump.

A few days ago I had visions of a Wood + Oladipo for Wiseman + Minnesota pick + filler, but at this point, I think they'd be lucky to get one of those back in a trade. Worth it if they can get both. Otherwise, trade Wood on draft night or next year.

But the "great" coaches also have the clout to make the team and situation fit.

Some of y'all actually think Wood is better than KAT... Lol.... But anyhow , I knew Wood was over this bs during the last timeout.... He looked like a man that wants to tell his best friend(Wall) that you're drunk chill the **** out before we get into some ****... But if it has to go down, we bout that action..

The Warriors never does that probably and I don't know how the salary situation is going to match.

Also the Minny pick is top 3 protected. I wonder how it works with us, what would suck is if the Minny gets a top 3 pick and we get kicked out of the top 4. so we get no lottery pick this year.

Wall will get sick of the losing and want out sooner or later.

We need to maximize his value by upping his usage.

In spite of the silly rhetoric, he is in no way a foundational piece.

Its pretty frustrating watching guys who are washed trying to hold on to the 'glory' years. I feel for Wood and the rest of the young guys who were supposed to be building for the future with this year.

Stone sitting on his hands. Moving these guys for peanuts in return would still be a win in opening up the playing time to assess the youngsters for the rest of the year.

Here’s an idea then, don’t have a poor shooter take the last shot. Maybe give it to the guy who is having a good game? Just a thought...

You can’t move Wall for peanuts. His contract is too large you’d have to take too much salary in and they wouldn’t be good and would have multiple years left too most likely. Dipo is moveable. Maybe ego still. But Wall? Can’t imagine any team in the league even entertaining a call from the rockets on him...
