Good stuff from the episode, though. There's no guesswork or theories, like @DreamShook alluded to. Seems like the Daredevil / Jessica Jones type of shows, rather than Wandavision.
Spoiler I really liked the first episode. I agree that its a little strange that an Avenger that saved the world can't get a loan or that Stark Enterprises isn't footing the bills. It caught me off guard that they introduced John Walker (Super Patriot, US Agent) as the "new" Captain America. It can make some good story lines. I just looked it up and Captain America 323 has tripled in value in 2 days.
i just compared eBay listings over the last few weeks. I looked up the comic, filtered by “SOLD LISTINGS” then scrolled through them back a few weeks. ~$30-40 ungraded in February but selling $75-100 today.
the Bucky side of the show seems way better than the Sam side at this point. We'll see how this goes, but it feels a bit as expected...underwhelming.
Good start. Opening scene was fun. I liked seeing their personal lives, too. Nothing too tear-jerking, because they’re Men. Falcon should call Wakanda for a loan. It’s the richest country in the MCU.
Spoiler Endgame - they make amends but have bigger fish to fry Then Iron Man died Then after that This happened ---> So probably no time to set up the payment plan LMAO People have pride Rocket River
“Hi, I’m a world famous Avenger that saved 3.7 Billion lives on earth. Think I can get a loan to save my family business?” Bank: “LOL no”
Opening scene didn't do much for me. I do appreciate them trying to start with a bang though. They probably spent 500mil on that scene, lulz. I liked Nolan's Batman because it wasn't heavy on the unnecessary action. Love building the personal lives - made me realize there's actually a lot to Winter Soldier. Ultron scene where the characters are just talking, trying to lift the hammer - I dig that stuff. Calm before the storm. It makes the eventual battle scenes more meaningful. In the comics, one of my favorite memories, is Beast & Cyclops drinking whiskey and coffee, reminiscing about older times, before a big "mission" that they were nervous about.
Flacon didn’t take it to the next level. ‘I can either say I bank here or say you refused me a loan on social media.’
I think it was moreso a reminder of "hey, we're Marvel. Remember us? It's been a while since something superheroey happened, so here's most of our special effects budget for the season blown on this opening scene in the first episode. Enjoy!"
Also, how is it that the Terrorist on the plane can't believe a man was in the aircraft's window? I mean, did you not see the alien invasion, what thanos did, the superheros flying all over the city. But I guy attached to an airplane window is implausible and impossible. Ok now.
Odds aren’t great they’re going to see a real flying man, even in a world where people fly. It’s feasible that Batroc didn’t believe him.
I thought it was solid premiere, lots of set up for the other 5 episodes. A lot more straightforward marvel action, I'll be curious to see how it plays out. Wyatt Russell is really making a name for himself outside of his father.....
