Tony buzbee filing lawsuit against Deshaun Watson? Hints at mistreating women

8:15 — “As recent as last week, the quarterback coach Quincy Avery referred Deshaun Watson to one of my clients.”

13:27 — “I need to dispel some silly rumors. Yes, I live on River Oaks Blvd and near the McNair family. I don’t know the McNair family. I wouldn’t recognize Cal or Hal or whatever his name is if I saw him on the street. This case has nothing to do with the Texans. Has nothing to do with free agency, the timing. I don’t know anything about that silliness and frankly don’t care about. The Texans are not a team I follow.”

14:26 — “I’ve formally been contacted by the Houston Police Department. It is our intention for the clients that are willing to do so to put together a package and submit it to the Houston Police Department of the information we have.”

20:58 — When you filed the first lawsuit Tuesday night, how many women did you talk to? — Just two. That’s why I say she’s so brave.

21:38 — “We agonized over whether we were gonna bring the case.”

22:01 — Out of the 22 women you’ve reached out to or heard from, have any filed police reports prior to this civil suit? — Not that I’m aware of, no. That’s gonna be our next step.

Let me clarify that if I went over that too quickly. I should say personal quarterback coach for Deshaun Watson. One of the other woman we represent, Watson was referred by one of the trainers on the team.”

I’ve only been reached out to informally by an individual with the Houston Police Department that I’m familiar with. I wouldn’t say a friend but certainly somebody I know. Our intention is to put together a package and submit it to the police department.”

23:46 — Timeline for filing a criminal complaint or reaching out to the police department? — “We haven’t decided that yet. Obviously we want to get all the civil cases on file and the next step would be to put together a package. ... (24:33) We’re gonna get all the lawsuits on file first, put together a package, submit it to the police department. Not every, we’re not sure, not every victim may want to come forward.”

26:16 — You’re saying Deshaun Watson’s representation known about these allegations for more than a month? — Correct. — Has the Houston Texans known about it? — I don’t know anything about what they know or don’t know.

26:27 — How would you characterize the inquiries made by the Texans to you, as well as the NFL? — I’ve had no contact with the Texans.

27:14 — Were you surprised how quickly so many woman have come forward? — Certainly a lot of people have come forward. Our thought was when we filed the first case, if it happened once, it probably happened more than once and that was kinda our feeling and we were right on that.

 

Everything about this is just weird as hell. I have no idea what to believe.

It is absolutely amazing the deflection and excuses that some have for Watson in here.

These are serious allegations that supersede football.

I absolutely hope that they aren’t true, for the sake of these women, Watson and the Texans.

But to make the excuses that this is a character assassination by the Texans is the epitome of delusional.

 

This, plus the part about the team trainer 15 minutes later when he corrected the above statement, is exactly what @jiggyfly was referring to when he said Buzbee tried to get the organization involved in the case. No idea why [jiggly] was catching hell for saying it, because it's exactly what happened.

It's just one of several erroneous statements Buzbee has made (HPD contact, no media, etc...).

This sounds sketchy as hell.

Doesnt mean its right or ok but this is how bad the texans are...think about that.
For years from now there will be a segment of population that says "oh that time watson was framed by the texans "

People are free to think whatever they want, no matter how ridiculous it is.
I think people need to come to grips with the fact that Watson may not be the squeaky clean choir boy he’s portrayed. Get ready for a black eye on this city, this franchise(just to match the other black eye they already have) and for Deshaun.

 

How is him actually saying the name of the Texans twice in the press conference a misqoute.

He could have just said the persons name but he incorrectly tied him to the Texans, I really have no idea why you are pressing me on this.

Name one other franchise besides the chicago black sox that would possibly do something like this?
