Isn't this what every team does? When rebuilding they stockpile picks and try to hit on the draft, and when they have enough by way of interesting talent and have assembled a semi-competitive bunch, they try to swing a trade for a disgruntled superstars by trading off some of those young interesting players + picks. That's how we got Harden and CP3 after all. I could see a team like the King's having a shot at doing that with haliburton, hield, bagley, etc. And picks for a superstar player to pair alongside Fox.

Stone is trying to FLEECE teams lol. Asked for one of Minny pick or Wiseman from Warriors for Oladipo supposedly. Didn't he ask for Herro + more for Tucker (KZ Okpala or Precious Achiuwa sounds more reasonable)? He's going to have a high asking price leading up to deadline it seems like, which is right approach.

Wood is locked up for 3 more years on a great deal they’d get klay back plus steph donkey dipo and Wiggins. That team is a contender in the west.

We would have to take back Wiggins in that trade

Tank for Cade. Then go after Michael Porter Jr and Marvin Bagley.

Rarely ever post here, but just some thoughts:

James Harden is not walking thru that door anymore (unless when we play Nets lol), we absolutely got fletched on that trade, but it is what it is. The guy is once in a lifetime talent, so getting that kind of unique player is going to take **** knows how many years for us.

Guards, ball handlers and shooters for most part run this league. We already got a big in Wood, i don't personally think think we need AG or Collins unless they're 3rd wheel so to speak.

Getting Zack LaVine would be a blessing, guy made himself into absolute beast and if you think otherwise you need to watch more basketball, but getting him is a pipe dream. I really doubt we're trading our pick and if we actually manage to get into top 4 range, ****ing A.

Obviously Stone is working under guidelines to turn this rebuild into at least watchable product ASAP, let's be realist for a minute whos our (Rockets) owner.

Competing for a tittle and being competitive team are 2 separate things and no one out there is handing out Dame dollars or Embiid's on a dime, however if we can trade bunch of our (or shall i say Bucks, Blazers, Nets and etc) picks into super star guard/slasher hell yah we should do it.

Sure, 2 year tanking would most likely ensure that we have more talent down the road, but AGAIN, let's be realistic about the owner and how fast he wants to fill the seats. A lot of fans (here) do not wants this many L's either.

Also, look at Jazz or Suns, neither got a top 10 player, yet they're at the top of stacked West, Grizzlies also only got Ja to show as top talent and there other teams that don't have top 10 or even top 15 players, yet doing great. Sure most of them ain't winning NBA or even making conference finals. But if we can acquire GREAT talents, we can then be competitive AND if we don't like said talents for fit or other reasons we can flip them (possibly) for better players (while attaching more picks).

Everything is a currency in NBA, picks are currency so are players, if we can get more goods, that's just nice.

Foundational Piece should be trading Lower First Round Picks to Move Up and Select a Better Talent. Maybe a High School Star.

Russell Westbrook can be that first brick in the house the Tilman builds.

A contender next year if Dipo were to be resigned and return to pre injury form. They might part with Wiseman/Wiggins for Dipo/Wood but including the pick is not gonna happen.

What if we gave up the Nets 2027 pick?

    Nah dude.

oladipo is a positive asset. Wood is a super value positive asset.

wiggins (due to contract) is a negative asset. Wiseman may or may not ever be as good as Wood is right now.

without the pick they have no chance with that trade and I’m not even sure if that gets it done

Dipo has been a negative most games this year and Wood has been injury prone. There’s no way they give away the number 2 pick in Wiseman + another future top draft pick for a diminished Oladipo rental and Wood. We have to look at things from their perspective as well.

    Exactly!

Foundational piece does not equal superstar.

CF refuses to see the pattern of Stone's recent targets.

MPJ, Collins, AG - Rockets simply need more size at the 4.

And Collins and AG are also capable of playing small ball 5.

Stone is trying to build a TEAM.

Players that complement one another and fit Silas vision of how they want to play.

What if we add picks? One of them being the Nets 2027 pick.

    Bullseye!

Defense, 2 way players to build around Porter-Wood is the KEY.
