There's also the even wackier double-cross theory that Deshaun is doing this on purpose to tank his value to increase his exit velocity.

There is no benefit to the Texans.
There is only extreme risk towards ownership if they were involved.

No one, including Cal would taint their biggest asset before it’s gone. Simply voiding a contract and winning in the court of public opinion is not a benefit.
