we have plenty of picks......more then we need actually while playing time and culture building is more limited and scarce...if you pretend to be a great club you cant afford to have this mediocrity god around....shut his ballhogging ass for the season or ship him out right now!
Whelp, he was terrible last night. But I suppose that's to be expected from a 20 year old. They can't all be good performances.
But they want a vet to mentor those young PG. Wall may be too steep a price for that role but if you never ask ...
I don't think he was "terrible." He didn't shoot well, but his assist number should have been way higher.
I was disappointed last night at how often he stopped his dribble. I think the Celtics defense pressed him the most. It's something he's going to get better at hopefully with more experience ad the primary ball handler.
You mean out front, or in the lane? In the lane, Doncic stops his dribble a lot, then does a plethora of pivots to stay active for shot or pass. KPJ did that a few times v Boston, and I think it's a healthy thing to develop ... the coolness to stop your dribble in the lane and still make plays Doncic is so good at it, the defense still won't really collapse on him after he stops his dribble, bc they fear the pass too much for leaving to double.
Best PG on the team. And it's not debatable. Top 10 in the NBA already and he is brand new to PG position.
He has two attributes that make for an elite PG. Vision and the ability to slow the game down. All he needs is now is experience and be more of a scoring threat so he creates space for his teammeats. The fact the he models his game after Harden is a good sign. He will never be the scoring threat Harden is but I think he is a more natural PG than Harden. That is high praise since I think Harden is the PG since Magic.
I get more excited watching KPJ drop 20 & 7 in a loss than I did in the past two years watching harden
I mean contending was fun but watching a 20 year old play like this definitely gives massive hope. He could be an all-star level player as early as 22 at this pace.
If porter eases up on the three pointer attempts until his three ball is refined and takes 4 more drives to the basket instead, that's at least 3.5 pts to his scoring average. That 3 point shot is killing his Fg%. 17pts/ 8 assists/ 1 block /3.3 rebounds Pretty awesome for a 20 year old.
Get it I guess. If 22 points on 21 shots, 11 points on 12 shots, and 27 points on 25 shots is what you’re into.
Since his idol is Harden, he needs to study how Harden does not fade away that much on his stepback. He uses the stepback to get a little bit of space between him and the defender to get the shot off, but his base and shoulders are still square like a set jumpshot. There is no way he's going to constantly be efficient from 3 taking primarily off-balance fade away stepback 3's at volume.
