Sound of Metal was fantastic. So was Nomadland. Promising young woman was one of the better dark comedies I've seen in a while.
Really enjoyed those three as well. I just saw The Father this weekend, damn Anthony Hopkins is incredible in it....very strong movie as well....
For best picture I only saw two of the list. The others do look good though, may get around to them eventually.
When's the last time Best Actor was won for a role in a movie that *wasn't* nominated for Best Picture sorta like the reverse of last year when the movie that won Best Picture didn't have any nominations for all four actor/actress awards.
I saw Borat, haven’t even heard of a lot of these. Of course no movie theaters and no promotions will probably do that.
Just saw Mank. Started off slow; was trying to get used to the way the actors spoke. Felt like a threatre play. The middle and end really picked up. Going in cold, not knowing the premise; was interesting to see the movie's take. Movie is very hollywood meta.
I liked Borat 2. Think the lady that played the daughter might end up winning best supporting actress. Sasha B. Cohen had a good part (serious role) in chicago 7 as well. He may not win; still was nominated. A prolific year for him.
