I looked this up (so someone correct me if I'm wrong) but if the ballhandler comes down with sole possession, it's a travel.
It's a weird one - you can make an argument either way. Kyrie touched the ball so Randle was entitled to another dribble, or Kyrie didn't dislodge the ball so Randle never lost control, therefore it's a travel. Last 2 minute report will be interesting
I think what Breen meant was that Harden had to be everything for the Rockets in order to even be competitive. Had to get 30+ a night. Had to iso. Had to do stuff that changed the way the NBA officiated. Now that he has an all-world scorer in Kyrie, and quite possible the best bucket-getter in NBA history in Durant, Harden can settle for being a dude who gets you 23/14/8 instead of something like 33/7/7. But Breen phrased it really weird.
Yeah I don't think he did either. Looked to me like he decided to dribble in mid-air once he knew he wasn't going to get a good shot off.
Nah, Im sorry but Im not buying it. He's playing the same way there that he did in Houston. Breen does not know what he's talking about. High Usage does not equal boring. He's just not getting as many FTs and he's in BK so these guys can just feign ignorance.
Chiney, Houston born, only gained an appreciation for James Harden after he left.. you hate to see it.
Based on the “held ball” definition, I think it should have been a jump ball if Kyrie touching it “caused” Randle to come back down with the ball, whatever that means.
Doesn't the defensive player still need to be touching the ball when the offensive player lands for it to be a held ball though? The delay between Kyrie touching it and Randle dribbling made it such a weird play, it's right in the grey area.
I will give Cheney a pass. she wasn't really a fan of the Rockets, but she still reps the city of Houston on air often. You could tell she wouldn't slander the Rockets out of fear of retribution at IAH.
