That same nightmare visited them when they were destined to get Tim Duncan and got jumped by the Spurs
Whenever a team trades away their best player (who is one of th best in the league ) and shifts the balance of power in the league they typically get rewarded with the number one pick. happened to Cleveland when they lost levron(they landed kyrie with the number 1 pick) happenes to New Orleans whe they lost Cp3(they got rewarded with the top pick(AD) happened to new Orleans again when they lost AD(they got the top pick Zion) hopefully the trend continues with us.
How it played out last season Worst record (pick received) 1- Warriors (2nd) 2- Cavs (5th) 3- Twolves (1st) 4- Hawks (6th) 5- Pistons (7th) 6- Knicks (8th) 7- Bulls (4th) 8- Hornets (3rd)
With this current record and the existing games I would be pretty upset if we dont end up getting one of the 4 picks
um what? Go to tankathon right now and look at the math Your record doesn’t matter if you are the bottom three they all have an equal shot, in fact the worst team has an 86% of NOT getting the number 1 pick!
The way Houston sports has been going the last few years I would be shocked if the Rockets keep their top 4 pick and not lose it to OKC. Harden forcing a trace for his buddy Westbrook, and then Morey giving it the ok likely knowing he was going to be leaving anyway is really going to set the rebuilding process back. However Houston is due for a reversion to the mean at some point.
I would have more faith in this league if the rockets DONT keep their pick. A lot of fans want to believe the league has it out for us but the truth is that this team is a source of revenue for them. The last thing adam silver wants is to have teams that no fans are willing to pay to see
50/50 chance of happening..... I felt that way too, but have decided to look at it as a sunk cost situation. We have a 50% chance of KEEPING our pick and if we keep it, that means top 4 and there are 5 really good prospects in this draft. The other way to look at it is to consider that the Rockets will likely have TWO first rounders in this draft regardless. I will admit, I would feel a lot better if we were guaranteed to keep our pick.
"My basketball ops got maybe a little weak at the end, and I just said, ‘We’re doing this. We are going to make the change. We’re going to go after it and roll the dice.'"
Stone is a Morey disciple.... so keeping with the undersized pf/center theme..... Alperen Şengün- 18 1/2 yrs
Houston Cougars have a player the rockets could choose. That's probably the way to go. Though we will have 2 picks around there. Blazers & Heat picks will be pretty close.
That's awesome. What's your language? Ayo! Ayo! Ayo! Edit: I like the video... it's cool hearing how it is said. The part where the lyrics are like "When we win it's an achievement" etc... it's almost like a coach speaking.
Seeing a LOT of projected lineups with Cade/Green/Kuminga........ just a reminder that we don't own our pick unless it falls top 4 and this uncertainty will definitely dictate our trading strategy at the deadline.
