    @ApacheWarrior - We're always good, Brother.

    Guys - Look at the timing....coincidence, luck....C'mon...
The Rockets are in negotiations with Cleveland and you're going to tell me they didn't discuss Porter.....
Maybe the Cavs declined at the time, but future considerations/a favor would come into play as they needed the deal pushed through.
Obviously, there had been problems with KPJ and the organization, but they just weren't ready.
The last straw coming four days later when the incident happened. We were tailor made to take him on...with JL.
Under the table. These kind of things happen all the time in the NBA.
( like what's going to happen with Silver and our top 4 pick : )- )

If you read all the stories in Cleveland, Porter and Cavs were a ticking time bomb.

If Porter was included in Harden trade then Stone deserves all the credit, even if he was only a throw in.

But the facts and reports do not support this.

Rockets Nation got lucky, plain and simple.

If anything, the perfect storm was a talented but troubled young player, JBB strong ties to Rockets, Rockets still employed an NBA player guy like John Lucas, troubled player pushed himself out of Cleveland.

Stone was the recipient of serendipity.

*Trade caused Porter to go off due to locker change.
*Negotiations had to have gone on for 8 days.
    *Officially two different transactions.
So officially people should not combine the two transactions unless substantiated.

Take care my friend. I leave you the last word.

Edited: forgive me for the bold print, I'm not yelling at you; but I do wish to stress that point.
Probably not a good idea to validate assumptions here on CF's. Every rumor may be seen as true then.

The Hakeem Olajuwon Trade Trend Continues Since 2001

Hakeem Olajuwon - Michael Dickerson - Steve Francis - Tracy McGrady - Kevin Martin, Kyle Lowry (Traded for Picks from Tor) - James Harden - Kevin Porter Jr., Plus Many Picks (Nets) (Mil) (Por)

Hakeem Olajuwon Trade Spirit Lives On

Stop people, kpj is not part of the harden trade....I'll say it again n again.

Stone or who I sure is to blame Tillman, blew that trade. Should of got simmons, if he was on the table full time. But again I'm sure Tillman didn't allow that to happen. I love stone but I gotta call balls n strikes. I'm convinced now harden will come back, fyi I always got on people that thought this. But how bad the trade was and how basically gifted harden harden free ring, it has to be just a solid to him. Thats the only way the bad trade makes sense to me.

    Without doubt.
But that event was the catalyst.

I believe differently, the catalyst was Cavs suspending Porter.

The locker thing was an excuse. If no locker issue, he would have exploded over something else.

The "slavery" comment confirms that in my mind.

This is a whacky and naive take.

Getting Simmons means locking in to a team of Simmons and Wall for 3 years. Doubtful Philly gives more than 2-3 1sts, but lots protected.

That team won't win. We needed to go the full rebuild. You can't reload by dumping a superstar for a semester.

The BKN picks will be good eventually. 1 year in 7 they will be in the lottery, at which stage we can swoop.
By going full picks, we were able to tank for this year, and may still be able to flip assets for talent.

    Etc.

Saying Stone blew the Harden trade by not taking Simmons is weak

15+ game losing streak, most by double digits, is truly weak.

Oladipo is NOT the All Star YOUNG player that Stone insisted Rockets would get in any Harden trade.

Naw saying what u said is weak. When u just skip a key point, taking Simmons doesn't mean you couldn't have moved him...just like you trying to do victor rn. So stop bro. Point is even if u don't want to keep Simmons he would have been a better asset in a trade piece then oldipo....

You always get the best deal...period.

The best deal is a debatable point, and Rafael has far more inside information than we have on the Simmons market and everything else for that matter.

Rafael might have gotten a better player to build around than Simmons for a late 2nd Round Pick. :D And now we got 2021-2027 picks galore...

Good points. I want to ask if Allen has improved enough to be considered as an off season acquisition to pair up with Wood. He was a softy with the Nets . I haven't seen him playing for the Cavs.

He is a restricted free agent. Cavs will have to put up around $5.7M qualifying offer.

    You know how that goes,

Rockets put in a bid, Cavs can match... meanwhile other free agents are getting scooped up. Your hands are tied waiting for an answer from Cavs. Money tied up as well in the same process.
