    Wut?

So having to move to another city that you have no control over and play in a system for a coach you don't now is not hurting you any way?

Thanks for letting me know I don't need to pay any attention to anything you post.

Sure, it's an inconvenience, but in professional sports, trades are almost guaranteed to happen. How many players spend their entire career with one team?

You've either forgotten that the players have guaranteed contracts or you've failed to consider the implications behind it. You seem to want the best of both worlds......the flexibility of a free agent along with the security of a multi-year guaranteed contract. Don't you think that's unreasonable?

Yeah it's just an inconvenience to just be told one day you have to move and relocate your whole family, no big deal.

It's not a big deal. It comes with the territory of being an NBA player.

The inconvenience gets compensated very well. It's a trade off most people would be fine making.

No pain, no gain. The money you earn is worth it...

What about players with families? Moving your kids and wife to a new city and new schools doesn't have an impact? What about the whole moving process? Having to sell your home and packing up etc?

That's an occupational risk players accept when they join the NBA. Nowadays, it's incredibly rare that a player spends his entire career with one team.

One of the benefits of being a millionaire is that a player can afford to hire movers and realtors.

Just cuz they can afford to do it doesn't make it and incovience. I hired movers and it was still a pain in the butt.

What kind of response are you looking for? It's part of the job....a job in which they are extremely well-paid.

Plenty of professions demands moving around. You choose that line of work? It comes with it. Unlike most of those jobs, NBA players can afford homes at multiple cities and flying between cities.

The problem is not the moving. It's whether they have the freedom to choose where they play. I agree that if they want both guaranteed contracts and the freedom to go anywhere they want any time, then that's having your cake and eating it too.

Most professional jobs will pay for your relocation if they make you move. The NBA doesn't seem like it does.

LOL. You are crying about moving expenses? That's like pocket change for these guys.

I was just simply responding to the guy saying the players getting traded has no impact on them. When it is a pretty big risk personally, with families. A bunch of these guys have million dollar homes and they are probably harder to sell and taking losses. While it may be chump change to these guys it is still a huge inconvenience.

I know how much I hate moving.

My point is that relocation is probably one of the least important issues for them when it comes to getting traded (probably with the exception of Toronto and Utah). The team they play for is 100 times more important than the team's location. What the players want is not that they don't have to move from time to time. What they want is being able to go to whatever team they choose regardless of how many years left in their guaranteed contracts.

    LOL.

If the players are so inconvenienced about this, they're entirely within their own right to forgo the god status they're given in their day to day life, as well as giving up the millions of dollars they make in a year - which is often times more than people make in their life time - and they can join the real world with the rest of us average joes and learn what it's like to make sub $100,000 a year.

Think they'll do that so they can stay in the one city?

Wha..... what's that? They wouldn't? Ahh! There it is. Guess they're just whiny b*tches then who complain about the cons but don't mention that's the price of business when you have all those pros.

I seriously cannot believe you tried to make that argument.

Not all players have families, and not all families move with the traded player. Selling a house at a loss is a risk that everyone takes when they buy a house, not just NBA players. If they don't want this risk, they should rent.

When players join the NBA, they should expect to be traded at some point in their careers.

Not sure why this is a big deal, protecting a player so the team can trade them and so that player can sign with a contending team seems like it would be beneficial to both parties. Also, agree with the fact that players sign contracts, and owners STILL entertain offers and trades to teams for a lesser return just to make these players happy. We could have sent Harden to Canada if we wanted to, not like we got respectable return from sending him to his top preferred destination. Draymond got a $118m extension just to average less than 6 ppg/6 rebound a game and is complaining while the rest of the world is dealing with the fallout of a global pandemic. His contract even has a trade kicker, lol if you are so concerned about getting moved then negotiate your deal in that manner.
