You had Rick Derringer, you had Mick Jagger, you had Bowie, you had Todd Rundgren, all on their album covers with feathers in their eyebrows and glitter on their eyelids etc etc. In New York it was very au courant to be glam rock, and the androgynous thing was happening. We’re all living in the village, we’re all caught up in the whole scene, and we ran into Pierre LaRoche, the stylist who had invented that style. I remember him saying, “I want to do an album cover with you guys. I will immortalise you!” Those were his exact words and boy was he right.

Listening to the release radar on Spotify today and hear, to my surprise, a new song from Days of the New. What's odd is that they broke up years ago and hadn't released anything since 2008. I look and see it's an entire album (10 songs, 52 min length) but no singles, no teasers, nothing. I do some searching and there's nothing on the wiki page or the official website. Then I came across this post on their Facebook page. Legit release or bootleg, I like it.
It is very close. Reign in Blood is their unquestioned masterpiece, IMO, and one of the greatest metal albums ever. However, Seasons of the Abyss is very solid and easily Slayer's 2nd best album.

Yes and I would also include "Kill 'Em All" and "...And Justice For All" by Metallica in your list. Never could get into Megadeth but I have respect for them - same for Anthrax although I do feel that "Among the Living" is a hugely underrated metal album. You might want to check out Exodus and Testament - some people might consider them also rans to the "Big 4" but they have some solid stuff such as "Bonded by Blood" (Exodus) and "Legacy"(Testament). And I know that there are other thrash metal bands out there but really have not listened to them as SIX (not 4) is plenty for me!
Anthrax was the funnest metal band I ever saw...once in the Summit and once (the Vatican?, some small place like that) on the Public Enemy "Bring the Noise" Tour. Primus opened. Funny you mention Exodus and Testament, they were the opening bands for several shows at the Summit (Alice Cooper, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, etc...) 1990ish high school Saturday, a few of us are on the beach at Surfside overnight, the glow in the dark seaweed is all over the beach, we're on mushrooms, and my giant idiot metal-loving buddy has stripped naked and is skipping up and down the beach singing "everybody's doing the toxic skip"

Ooh, I will need to look into getting this. I wished they could have stuck around longer like Wire but sadly with the death of Andy Gill, GOF is really no more. I know that Jon King could get the band back but without Andy, it just isn't the same band.
Current 93 - Dogs Blood Rising (absolutely one of the most evil albums I have ever listened to) Brand New - Deja Entendu If you love Nurse With Wound, Foetus, SPK's early stuff - you need to get this album by Current 93 - it's mindblowing.
The lead singer for Eloy has such a weird but cool voice - "Ocean" is one of my favorite space rock albums ever.
Rust in peace is great and an easy listen/catchy; but I can see how his voice gets grating. Similar to smashing pumpkins/corgan, great song writers, voice works on some songs but irritating on others.
