It sends the wrong message if you are racist toward an Asian, nothing happens to you.
Especially now, it should be front and center.

I thought so, but then someone mentioned to me that Poole and Mannion were already on 2-way contracts, so their getting called up was already in the plan. So that doesn't actually provide any additional indication.

It's not Lin's decision. It was Lin's wish, and the league decided to go by Lin's wish. Part of Lin's Christian faith, I guess...more interested in forgiveness and bringing people together than punishment and shaming.

Religion should have nothing to do with company policy
The dude dropped racist remarks at his job
    should at least publicly apologize

Not saying NBA was making a decision based on religion. Saying NBA was respecting Lin's wishes since Lin was the one who was attacked here.

Did they respect the 15 year old Jewish kid that Myles Leonard called out on Fortnite?
Leonard got fined and suspended and had to apologize publicly.

so what this is really saying is the nba punishes racism depending on what race you offend

what happens if they insult the Wantabe on the Raptors ?
    Nothing ?

Lin fandom apparently is more to them than racial justice for racism

He is. He's taking a different approach...rather than shaming the attacker, he's using it as an opportunity to educate.

Nope...racial justice is far more important. I have not said anywhere that I agree with his approach.

I get it your Lin fandom over writes everything
Even proper punishment for racist slurs
Especially the ones done at work
    @Zboy
    It’s pretty sick

I don't know what the 15 year old Jewish kid wanted, so I have no idea if they respected his wishes or not.

We don't know any of the details of the investigation other than that they identified the player and that they arranged for a conversation between that player and Lin. I don't know if I would have approached this the same way as Lin has, but I do believe there are degrees of racism, and I do think that the context and intent behind the slur matters regarding the severity of the punishment. Was it a young player who had limited education and exposure to Asian people and was simply ignorant? Or was it an older player who should know better? We don't know...but I'm willing to trust the league and Lin to do what they believe is appropriate.

I’m sure their policies are reasonable...like they look at each case individually and apply remedies appropriate to the infraction. If that isn’t the case, what do you think the explanation is?

    I get it
You prefer the punishment be different based on the race targeted for racism

LOFs love Lin more than justice

it’s too bad that you are incapable of having a rational discussion...obviously that’s not what I’m saying at all.
