I wonder if Siri has a legit shot to make the roster. He's had a great start to spring training. McCormick and Souza need to wake up, but having those guys at the top of the lineup makes me wonder if they are fighting for a spot.

I would guess that Siri has a small chance to beat out McCormick. Siri probably is not competing with Souza as they would complement each other with Siri providing defense and Souza providing hitting if Souza could hit. McCormick is likely better if Astros only go with one backup outfielder as his bat is likely better than Siri's and his defense is better than Souza's.

I personally would rather see Siri on the roster than McCormick. Siri has some good upside. Obviously a big strikeout problem but he has tools to be a good defensive CF who can steal bases and hit for power.

He's played 3rd and in the outfield so this is nothing new he could have a outside chance of beating out Toro.

Don't worry.... he will work on a palm ball or a knuckle to add to his repertoire for when he makes it to the big leagues in 2027..... remember, he himself said there is no hurry, and that he doesn't really listen to coaching.

Well he and Nix might get to rehab Tommy John together, so that should help.

I'm completely with Dusty on the shift.

Git good scrub, or pull with all your might an accept some outs.

Pedro Leon apparently led off the game today with a triple to left center in the “B” game and scored a run. Didn’t have access to all the stats but good to hear nonetheless.

That is the lineup that would be better, batting Straw 8th, instead of having Maldonado in front of him. If I'm remembering correctly, Machete is pretty good at laying down a bunt. Normally, Bregman would be in there, of course, and they could split up the lefties Yordan & Tucker.

I'd prefer Straw's OBP before the leadoff hitter and Machete's power to cleanup after the middle of the order. Though, that likely isn't a big deal either way.
