He will as soon as there’s a Wood sighting back on the court. Plus how many guys are throwing up brick after brick when he does find them?

There’s no doubt Wall would love to be averaging 10+ assists. I’m sure he does get frustrated and decides he’s going to try and put the team on his back and at this stage of his career he can’t do that on a nightly basis.

What I don’t understand is people not respecting his heart and effort.

Pretty similar talent to the bad teams Harden has led for YEARS.

No doubt he’s no James Harden, or even an all star at this stage of his career. I’m still happy as hell we were able to move Brodie tho.. and get a potentially valuable draft pick. I guess that’s my perspective on Wall, as well as respecting his career and hustle.

Porter is fully embracing his inner AND outer Harden.

Harden taking Porter under his wing, game recognizes game.

    Hahahaha

So when Wood was on the court earlier in the season, why was John not featuring him heavily like he should have been?

I haven't seen a single thing from John Wall that leads me to believe the gives a damn about getting 10 assists. I see a loser over the hill player who is a ball hog and does not play winning basketball, but instead plays to put up unimpressive numbers to ensure he has a chance of another contract.

He has become a shoot first point guard. I am happy he’s on the team and wish him the best, but I agree that he is not looking to get 10 assists any time soon. The thing I miss most about Harden is his passing skills. Nobody on our team is even capable of alley oop passing. Dante Exum may be the closest thing we have, but that’s a stretch and odds are he never plays for us.

? KPJ can definitely throw alley oops. You need to pay attention.

He's inflating his stats so someone wants him. I'd trade him to Utah or Minnesota.

Why would Utah want him with Mitchell and Conley, both better players at this point?

What I'm afraid of is that no team that is in win now mode would want Wall. His game really isn't condusive to winning.

Make Wall play off the bench. This porter kid is hit.

The real question should be "should KPJ even pass to Wall".

That is a very harsh interpretation, I see a former all star reestablishing himself after major injuries that he worked his ass off to come back from. He clearly has a lot left in the tank and will be a valuable scorer for a contender when he is eventually able to be moved. In the meantime he has an opportunity to be a positive influence on the young guys while he is here.

I suppose perspective is everything, it's hard to hate the guy when he takes it to the hoop time and again taking knocks instead of just mailing it in like many vets on the team did this year.

Pretty easy for me to hate a guy who is nothing but a ball hog, and hindering the prime time we should be doing nothing but developing young players.

When I see a guy looking at doing nothing but stat pad instead of help young players get better, yeah, very easy to hate.

I really love how he drives it in and turns it over half the time because it is such a horrendous decision and everyone knows even before he throws it up there, it's nothing but another team's fast break. . Such hustle, much wow.

EDIT: Oh I'll love to hear your description of how he's a positive influence to the young guys.

Dude is better than Wall. The question should be should Porter pass to Wall?

I just have to say, Wall's assist totals are total BS (reminds me very much of Stephon Marbury who had high assist numbers but universally known as selfish). Westbrook in a similar mould.

The plays where he gets an assist, the whole thing is planned and designed for him to get an assist (rather than to create the most efficient points based on all options). He's not taking what the defense gives, you know when he's going to pass and you know when he's going to shoot. He'll often put the ball in people's hands when they're in poor position.

This has been true for ages, and I thought he might have matured while he was injured and watched so many guys eclipse him just with good decision making, but that's obviously not happening.

I think Wall is probably getting an overly bad rap. He came over expecting to have Harden and a lottery bound team rather an essentially complete rebuild. He had worked very hard on rehab and when Harden left he tried as the default leader and vet unsuccessfully to take up the slack for a top 25 player of all time as the team started to continually lose-- especially with Wood injured. Passing to folks who can't shoot was frustrating. It is true that Wall does not seem to be effective at lobbing and his assist stats are misleading at least in comparison to a maestro like Harden who spoiled us.

It remains to be seen how Wall fits in with the new team that is in the process of being created.

Wall had good court vision. John sees the pass, he’s just not gonna make it :D
